    Front Panel

    The front panel interface of the mainframecomprises a display and rotary knob allowingeasy navigation in the module tabs.

    They enable fast setup and control of theparameter values. During normal operation, theparameters of all the modules are displayedsimultaneously in the main tab and updated inreal-time.

    The OSICS Mainframe can host up to eightpluggable modules for matching your particulartest applications.

    It is easy-to-use thanks to the front panel interfacethat offers direct control of the eight modules.Moreover, the mainframe is reliable and costeffective for laboratory use as well as for 24/7use in manufacturing plants.

    Rear Panel

    Connectors for remote operation are located atthe back panel of the mainframe: USB-B forRS 232 communication, GPIB for IEEE 488communication and SubD-9 for interlock.There are also 18 BNC connectors for differentpurposes. The first is for synchronization of themainframe and the second for application of anexternal modulation signal to the mainframe.

    In addition, there are two BNC connectors permodule: one for monitoring of power, current,and temperature and the other for an analogmodulation output signal. Such a pair is onlyoperating if supported by the module.

    OSICS T100Tunable Laser Module

    OSICS T100 are cost effective, external cavitytunable lasers modules utilizing Yenista's patentedT100 cavity. This gives a minimum of 100 nm tuningrange with narrow linewidth, high output power andultra-low optical noise. This low noise significantlyincreases the dynamic range of a measurement. TheOSICS platform provides front panel and remotecontrol interfaces.

    OSICS FBLFull-Band Tunable Laser

    Key Features1260 nm to 1680 nmAll telecom wavelength bands (O, E, S, C, L and U) aresupported with a single fiber output. This is particularlyuseful for silicon photonics, CWDM, PON and photoniccrystal characterization. It also allows automated testingover the entire wavelength range.

    90 dB/0.1 nm Ultra-low Optical NoiseYenistas unique T100 cavity eliminates the broadbandspontaneous emission (SSE) that is normally present in anexternal cavity laser's output. The OSICS T100 has one ofthe lowest figures of merit for SSE of any tunable laser onthe market and gives a dramatic improvement in ameasurement's dynamic range.

    Modular FlexibilityThe modular design means a partial system can bepurchased initially. This can then be upgraded at a laterdate thus staggering capital expenditure. The system is alsocompatible with legacy OSICS modules. These can beintegrated into the system if available.
