1.What is CompMail?Thank you very much for using "CompMail". This tool is for compress the attachment file for e-mail, in order to save e-mail communication cost through satellite communication and for easy use.

2.How to install2-1Install of CompMail

Terminate every program working on your PC first. Then insert the CD-ROM.

Then execute the install program in the CD-ROM. If your PC is English version, from the US folder of the CD-ROM, run setup.exe or setup.

After running setup.exe, you will see this window. Continue installation by pressing OK and follow next instructions.

Next, Click the PC button.

Click Continue

Click OK

You will have this icon on Desktop.

2-2Install of extract program

In Winodws98 or higher OS version, CompMail does not need any extract software.

In Windows95, you need to prepare extra software for extraction for CAB format. You can find freeware to extract CAB format. Please contact us when you need help about this issue.

3.How to use CompMail ( compress and extract)3-1Compress, Attach to E-mail, and Send

Drag the file you want to compress and drop it on the CompMail Icon on the desktop.

Then the file is compressed and attached to the E-mail automatically. See the picture below. Next fill the title, TO, CC, text and necessary information, and send. (When the file to be compressed is too big, it takes some time to see this new message window.)

(note) Even if you are not opening a E-mail program (Outlook Express etc.), when you click Send button in this screen, this message is saved in your OUTBOX folder of the E-mail program. So, to send your message outside, start your E-mail program and click Send/Recv button. Then your message really goes outside.

3-2 Compress, Attach to E-mail, and Send(picture file )Drag the file you want to compress and drop it on the CompMail Icon on the desktop.

Then you will have this screen. Drag the track bar, select the resize rate you like, and click Resize button. Default rate is 1/2 (File size is 1/2 x 1/2 = 1/4).

Then the picture file is resized and compressed like this.

(NOTE) Resize is different from Compress. Compressed file, *.cab, can be extracted to original file, but Resize is changing the file and it is irreversible. When the Resized picture was received, the recipient can see the resized picture but cannot change its size into original one before resize.3-3How to open a file compressed by CompMail

Files compressed by CompMail are attached with E-mail with a name send.cab or send. First, double click the send.cab file to open.

Next you will have this window. Select Open it and press OK.

Then you will have this window. You can see compressed the file in that window, so drag it on the desktop or into any folder you want. (Double clicking to save instead of dragging also works, but dragging is easier.)

By these steps the file is extracted. Please use the file on the desktop or wherever you put.

(NOTE) If other compress/extract software are installed in your PC, the extraction procedure is different from this manual. In that case, follow the instruction of the software.

4.Note* When you compress the file over 500KB, it takes much more minutes than usual. In that case, please just wait for some minutes.

*CompMail is a compression software for E-mail which is used in our E-mail system service. Therefore, when you are using other service or when you have not installed E-mail software yet, it does not work correctly.
