OPENING DAYSTATE OF THE COLLEGEAUGUST 27, 2012
OUR MISSION
Manchester Community College advances academic, economic, civic, personal, and cultural growth
by providing comprehensive, innovative and affordable learning opportunities
to diverse populations. We are a learning-centered community
committed to access, excellence and relevance.

BOARD OF REGENTS PRIORITIES
Students should enter college prepared, and we must improve college readiness opportunities for those who are not.
Students should benefit from a transfer process between a public community college to a state university that is seamless and easier for degree completion.
Students and faculty should be spurred to innovate and learn and teach in settings that foster entrepreneurism.
Students should benefit from enhanced collaboration and partnerships between the state’s higher education system and the private sector.
LEGISLATION
SB40
Pell Grant expected to increase to $5,635 in the next award year; preserve full eligibility for online students;
Senate restoration in final appropriations bill, Title IV Eligibility for Ability-to-Benefit Students in Career Pathways Programs (students who do not hold a h.s. diploma or GED) but show ability to benefit from college-level work;
Extend the American Opportunity Tax Credit (replaces Hope Scholarship) and uses a formula for counting books and course materials plus tuition.
