1. CD 300/400 stereo CD/radio. S models feature the CD 300 audio unit with all other models,
except SRi Limited Edition, featuring the CD400. Highlights include AM/FM stereo radio, 20 Watts per
channel output from up to six speakers* and Graphic Information Display**. Both units play CDs
and MP3/WMA files and come with an aux-in socket for portable music players. Bluetooth® mobile
phone system and USB connectivity can be specified as options, while a digital radio option is also
available on most models. Digital radio means digital quality sound, a broader range of stations,
easier to find by name and improved track display info on some stations.
2. Plug-and-play USB and Bluetooth® wireless technology.
The optional USB interface lets you hook up most MP3 players,
smartphones or USB sticks to your Astra’s infotainment system
and access music, podcasts and other files via the steering
wheel remote controls. Add the optional Bluetooth® technology
you get hands-free operation of most mobile phones. Both
systems are available separately on most models.
Keep in touch, entertained and ahead of the queues with Astra’s premium in-car communication systems, complete with aux-in socket, optional DMB digital radio on most models and USB connection and Bluetooth® mobile phone system both available.

43 Navi 650 satellite navigation system. Featuring
the very latest in satellite navigation with 7-inch
colour screen. It gives you fast access to map data
and points of interest to keep you informed and on
the move. Covering all major link roads and streets
in towns and cities across Ireland. Standard on
SRi Limited Edition and optional at extra cost on
all other models except S.
3. Navi 950 IntelliLink. Upgrade to this optional
system and you’ll not only get street level mapping
across Europe, you’ll be able to make calls and
stream audio from your smartphone, tablet or other
portable device using Bluetooth®. It features voice
commands for navigation, phone calls and music
track choice. So you stay connected every minute
of your journey. Optional at extra cost on SC
(saloon only), SRi, SE and Elite models.
Other highlights include:• CD player with MP3 format• AM/FM stereo radio with 36 station presets• 20 Watts per channel output and seven speakers• Steering wheel mounted audio controls
4. Infinity® Premium Sound System. The ultimate in
audio performance, with 7 x 45 Watts (315 Watts
total), seven premium speakers and an eight-inch
subwoofer. The optional Infinity system digitises the
audio signal so it can be fine tuned with Digital
Sound Processing for accurate sound response. The
difference is better all-round sound production under
all driving conditions. Not available on Astra Saloon.

SAFEGUARD YOUR INTERESTS
The Astra line-up offers a host of class-leading, state-of-the-art electronic driver aids to make driving a whole lot easier – and safer too. Some of these options utilise the front camera system that employs advanced technology to scan the road ahead.
1. Systematic safety. Astra combines advanced electronic
options with proven safety features like front, side and curtain
airbags and reinforced passenger safety cell with pre-defined
deformation zones. ISOFIX child seat restraint fittings are
standard on the outer rear seats of all models.
2. Rear View Camera Pack. The pack also includes the Navi
650 satellite navigation system. Mounted in the tailgate handle,
the rear view camera gives you a clear view of the area behind
the car, displaying your rear bumper as a useful point of
reference. The picture shows up on the Navi 650 screen, with
horizontal lines overlaid as a scale so you can easily judge the
distance to objects and other cars. You quickly appreciate just
how easy it is to reverse the car safely. Optional at extra cost on
most models. Not available on Astra Saloon.
3. Hill Start Assist. Standard on SRi, SRi Limited Edition, SE,
Elite and all automatic models – Hill Start Assist stops you
rolling back unintentionally on steep hills, by automatically
releasing the brake at just the right moment when pulling
away on a gradient.

Forward Collision Alert (FCA).
Available as part of the optional Driving
Assistance Pack (SRi, SRi Limited Edition,
SE and Elite models; not on Astra Saloon),
FCA constantly shows the distance to the
leading vehicle in the instrument panel,
helping you to maintain a safe distance.
In addition, FCA – active when the car is
moving faster than 30km/h – gives visual
and audible warnings if you approach a
slower-moving vehicle too fast.
Tyre Pressure Monitoring System
(TPMS). The standard TPMS is a
convenient way of checking your tyre
pressures. If any of them start to deflate,
a visual indication displays within the
instrument panel and, depending on the
model, the precise pressure of each
individual tyre is shown.
Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR).
Utilising the front camera function, this
clever system makes sure you’re
constantly made aware of speed limits,
even when temporary signs are put up.
TSR continually monitors road signs, and
gives you a warning if you unintentionally
stray over the limit. It can even read and
display motorway electronic signs
related to speed limits like rain or snow
warnings. Available as part of the
optional Driving Assistance Pack (SRi,
SRi Limited Edition, SE and Elite models;
not on Astra Saloon).
Lane Departure Warning (LDW).
LDW uses the front camera system to
recognise lane marking lines, and emits
an audible warning if your vehicle leaves
its lane unintentionally (i.e. without
you signalling), preventing potential
accidents and reminding you of
inattention or tiredness. The LDW system
can be deactivated via a facia switch.
Available as part of the optional Driving
Assistance Pack (SRi, SRi Limited Edition,
SE and Elite models; not on Astra Saloon).

Side Blind Spot Alert. Available as part
of the optional Perimeter Protection Pack
on SRi, SE and Elite models, this
ultrasonic-based system helps prevent a
potential collision with a vehicle in the
neighbouring lane by continuously
screening the blind spots on both sides of
the car and providing an audible and
visual warning if the indicator is set to
change to a lane where another car is
detected. Not available on Astra Saloon.
HEADLIGHTS WITH FORESIGHTOpel’s intelligent Adaptive Forward Lighting (AFL+) technology is an invaluable additional option to your Astra, especially if you do a lot of driving at night. The headlights change their pattern to suit the location and the weather. Sensing where you need the light most, they help you see around corners and even dip automatically when something is coming the other way. You can also adjust the system for European driving.
LED Daytime Running Lights.* With the optional Premium Forward Lighting Pack, the
intelligent AFL+ headlight system comes with energy-efficient LEDs that make your
car more visible to other road users. High Beam with Assist (HBA). HBA is also part of
the Premium Forward Lighting Pack. It makes driving at night safer and easier by
automatically dipping your headlights when it detects other vehicles ahead. It
switches the lights back to high beam when the road is clear.

Static cornering light. Throws light
90 degrees left or right for enhanced
lateral vision (up to 40km/h, also when
reversing).
Dynamic curve light. Activated by
steering angle and speed, the headlights
swivel up to 15 degrees into the bend
(any speed).
High beam with assist. Automatically
switches from high to low beam as it
detects oncoming or proceeding vehicles
(over 40km/h).
Adverse weather light. Wiper or rain
sensor activated for better vision in bad
weather conditions (up to 70km/h).
Motorway light. 140 metre range,
higher and brighter than normal low
beam, without dazzle (over 115km/h).
Country road light. Wider spread and
brighter light than normal low beam.
70 metre range without dazzle
(55-115km/h).
Town light. Wider and lower spread of
light. Activated by vehicle speed together
with street lighting (30-55km/h).
Pedestrian area light. Wider spread of
light (an extra eight degrees left and
right) illuminates potential hazards
(up to 30km/h).

POWER WITH A SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY
The concept of choice is central to Astra and the wide range of engines available fully supports this principle. Options extend from the lively yet frugal 1.4i 16v VVT petrol unit to the impressive 165PS diesel engine. And there’s a choice of ecoFLEX models available – including a brand new 1.6CDTi Whisper Diesel that is designed to be impressively quiet out on the road. Smooth, precise and above all responsive, the Astra chassis epitomises the stable and spirited feel that characterises the car as a whole.
Optional FlexRide chassis settings. With a mere touch of a button, this optional feature allows you to
change the car’s whole driving dynamics – from ‘Sport’ to ‘Tour’ and back again. Using Continuous Damping
Control (CDC) technology, FlexRide automatically adjusts the dampers for excellent grip. In ‘Tour’ mode, it
chooses the best settings for gentler straight-line driving. Switch to ‘Sport’ mode and it instantly sharpens
the response of the speed-sensitive steering, accelerator and automatic transmission (if fitted). It also
changes the colour of the ambient instrument lighting – from a cool white to a more dynamic red effect.

The choice is yours. Drivers can select from two powerful yet
highly efficient petrol engines and three hugely responsive
turbo diesels, many matched with slick six-speed gearboxes or
– on selected units – an optional six-speed automatic
transmission. Petrol choice incudes a 100PS 1.4i 16v VVT unit
and a free-revving 115PS 1.6i 16v VVT engine.
The extensive diesel range includes the new 1.6CDTi Whisper
Diesel unit available in a choice of power outputs – 110PS or
136PS – with excellent fuel economy and outstanding CO2
emissions as low as 97g/km. There’s also a highly flexible
2.0CDTi 16v common rail unit with automatic transmission that’s
good for an impressive 165PS.
In many cases, the units can be specified with Opel’s proven
fuel saving and emissions reducing Start/Stop technology. This
innovative system switches the engine off when you stop at the
lights or in traffic, then restarts it automatically once the clutch
is depressed. Start/Stop is also an essential feature of our
market-leading ecoFLEX models.

SUPPORT YOU CAN RELY ONThe designers and engineers behind the Astra line-up put serious thought into even the smallest details. It’s these details that make all the difference to the travelling environment – and your overall sense of well-being. Adding to the whole experience, drivers can select from a host of comfort options including sophisticated dual-zone electronic climate control, a heated steering wheel and ergonomically designed, heated seats.
Ergonomic sports driver’s seat. The perfect choice for long-
distance drivers. Standard on Elite and optional on selected
models, the seats adjust to suit the driver’s posture by letting
you fine tune the lumbar adjustment and extending the seat
cushion, giving your upper body and legs greater support
where it’s needed most. The seat has won the coveted AGR*
seal of approval for helping to prevent the back pain and
tension suffered by some car occupants.

Winter Pack. Keep your hands warm in a
cold snap and enhance your grip with
a leather-bound heated steering wheel.
In addition the electrically heated front
seats prove a welcoming comfort feature
on cold mornings. Optional at extra cost.
Electronic Climate Control (ECC).
Providing constant control of the interior
atmosphere via an onscreen display, this
fully automatic system features Dual
Zone settings so you can set the ideal
temperature for either side of the car.
A filter system traps pollen, dust and
unpleasant odours. Standard on Elite
and optional at extra cost on most
other models.
Driver’s seat power lumbar adjustment.
Upgrade your car’s seating with Seat
Comfort Pack 1 and your Astra comes with
power lumbar adjustment for the driver’s
seat (standard on Elite models). Drivers
specifying Seat Comfort Pack 2 get power
lumbar adjustment for the front
passenger’s seat, too.

2. Roof base carrier with Thule roof box. Whether you’re
playing sport, embarking on a family holiday or simply making
the most of your precious leisure time outdoors, even your
Astra’s vast load area might not be enough to accommodate all
your gear. The Thule roof box should take care of larger items
that don’t fit inside the car.
3. iPad cradle. This purpose-designed cradle provides secure
and convenient in-vehicle location of an iPad, iPad2 or 3.
You can also revolve it 360°and tilt it by 15° for perfect
on-the-move viewing.
4. Floor mats. Hard-wearing floor mats provide extra

The maximum roof rack loading should not exceed 75kg on Saloon and Hatchback models and 100kg on Sports Tourer models. The maximum towing weights are based on the ability of the car, with two occupants of 75kg each, to restart on a 12% gradient, which is approximately 1 in 8.3, at sea level. At altitudes above 1500 metres, the engine output may drop with a corresponding reduction in towing capability. Any extra weight, such as luggage or additional passengers, should be deducted from the maximum towing weight. With a trailer fully loaded, maximum noseweight should not exceed 75kg. Always fit Opel towing attachments and accessories available from your Opel dealer. They are designed specifically for Opel models and carry a 24-month guarantee.

On the road, a wide selection of shift patterns is adapted to the style and habits of the driver, anticipating when maximum acceleration or maximum efficiency is required. The electronic control will also adapt to the prevailing road conditions, reducing gear shifting when climbing or descending and using engine braking assistance during down changes.The ActiveSelect® manual mode allows the gear lever to be used like a sequential manual gearbox – you simply push the lever forward or back to change up or down the gears. The driver also benefits from a ‘neutral’ gear disengagement at idle, which reduces vibration and contributes to improved fuel consumption.
