Managing air flow formaximum performanceAir management is a building block of ACERT™ Technology. The C175 has a tall cross-flow cylinder head thataccommodates larger ports and helpsdirect a large amount of cool air intothe cylinder with the least resistance,resulting in the best port performanceof any engine in the world. The C175 improved breathing enables agreater amount of cool air in and out ofthe engine, which helps producehigher power ratings and loweremissions. This, along with lower airpumping losses, results in reducedfuel consumption.

Fuel system advances formultiple benefitsThe C175 features the Cat CommonRail Fuel System for fuel delivery,one of the building blocks of ACERTTechnology. The Cat Common Rail FuelSystem offers full control of fueldelivery and fuel pressure at any loador speed for superior transientresponse and block load acceptanceas well as shorter recovery time.Through the use of higher pressuresand precise control of time, amount offuel injection, injection pressure andmultiple injections, the Cat CommonRail Fuel System also improvescold start capability, lowers fuelconsumption and reduces emissions.

Engine controls that keepyou in controlThe C175 has a robust control system,featuring more pressure andtemperature sensors for enhancedengine monitoring. C175 engine controls use the latest version of theADEM™ A4 Engine Control Module(ECM) to deliver 50 times the computing power of its predecessor.

A cooling system that just got coolerThe C175 cooling system was designedto minimize heat rejection by coolingonly the parts that require cooling,resulting in a 20 to 30 percentimprovement in heat rejection per kW produced.

Lube system improvements for exceptional durabilityThe C175 lube system features twopiston cooling jets per piston, plusa large capacity oil pump anda pressure regulation valve that helpsmaintain optimum oil pressure at allspeeds, loads and throughout the lifeof the engine, increasing durability.

Core engine componentsbuilt for big powerThe components of the C175 aredesigned for higher strength, durabilityand compactness. A bigger, robuststeel-forged crankshaft handlesbigger loads, while the cast ironengine block provides increasedstrength and lighter weight, so you getmore power out of a smaller package.
