Black is the leading color, with dark shades following. In addition to plain weaves, small-figured or Jaquard effects are in great variety in all the above goods.

The waist effect still obtains, and more or less silk or velvet enters into the make up of every costume. ; Large, handsome buttons are much used, and jet trimmings are fashionable.

We always show Dress Goods early, and are this •week opening an assortment that will surprise you.> Prices rule very low. Our former 39c, all-wool Serge is now 25c, and this is an indication of the general scale of prices. We have a beautiful assortment of Waist and Skirt Silks, and everything in Linings and Findings.

Shall open Fall and Winter Cloaks next week, and will have a word to say about Cloaks in this space at that time. Have also opened Fall-weight Underwear and new Kid Gloves.
