Posljednjeg vikenda u svibnju, Šibenik postaje središte mediteranske hrane. Tih će se dana održati drugi međunarodni festival Taste the Mediterranean/Okusi Mediteran! , jedinstvena manifestacija koja promovira mediteransku prehranu, kulturu, tradicije, proizvode i način života, koji su se tijekom stoljeća razvili duž obala Mediterana. Veći dio programa održat će se u ekskluzivnom ambijentu tvrđave Sv. Mihovila koja je proglašena hrvatskom kulturnom atrakcijom 2014. god. U staroj gradskoj jezgri Šibenika bit će organizirana mediteranska tržnica na kojoj će se moći kupiti proizvodi lokalnih proizvođača, te proizvođača iz Francuske, Italije, Slovenije, Bosne i Hercegovine. Ovogodišnji festival održava se u sklopu manifestacije Rendez-vous, festivala Francuske u Hrvatskoj (svibanj/rujan 2015.), stoga će se u Šibeniku posebno predstaviti francuska gastronomija, proizvodi i vina. Stoga, dođite u Šibeniku i uživajte u ljepotama najstarijeg hrvatskog samorodnog grada, jednog od pet najljepših kamenih gradova Mediterana, uživajte u okusima i mirisima Mediterana. On the last weekend in May 2016, the old town of Šibenik, one of the most beautiful venues on the Croatian coast, will host a unique gourmet and cultural Festival - “Taste the Mediterranean”. This exclusive package deal with ‘enough spices’ and a lot of ‘taste’ will immerse you into the sights, sounds and flavours of some of the most iconic locations. The Festival gathers famous international chefs and local cooks, food and wine producers, som-meliers, nutritionists, artists, journalists and foodies. A Mediterranean market, cooking shows, wine tastings, exclusive dinners by Michelin starred chefs, traditional cuisine by the local restaurants and “konobas” (typical Dalmatian taverns), music, exhibitions and workshops are on the programme.Croatians are very proud of their gastronomy. It is based on the tradition of natural and healthy Medi-terranean food which in 2013 became a part of the Unesco List of intangible cultural herit-age. Croatians are also very proud of their natural beauties, national parks, untouched nature, historical sights and Unesco heritage. Early afternoon

experience a degustation menu and wine pairing at restaurant Pel-egrini, the best Croatian restaurant in 2015. Tradition and innova-tion are the key words in the culinary art of chef Rudolf Štefan. In an enchanting ambience with a view on the Unesco cathedral, you will enjoy sophisticated, creative and inspired dishes, perfectly paired with wines.

Early night

The night of the mussels - the official opening party of the festival Taste the Mediterranean, with good food and good music. Mussels are lo-cally grown and authentic food of the area.

Free morning

for exploring Šibenik, the oldest Croatian town, market, fish market, the little streets of the old town. You may have a lunch in one of the city res-taurants.

Early afternoon

island’s hopping in Šibenik archipelago (the departure time of the boat depends on weather conditions and possibilities to swim). In search of the lost Mediterranean you will visit Prvić and Zlarin, two very special Dalmatian islands, where locals are keeping alive the tra-ditions. The tiny hidden beaches and caves, the beautiful coast and the crystal blue sea will leave you breathless. During the island tour you will visit the Museum of corals, the Museum of Faust Vrančić (famous Croatian inventor, Homo volans) and St. Nicholas fortress.

*For those who prefer to stay during the day in Šibenik, a boat will be leaving from the city port towards the island of Prvić (for the dinner).

In the morning

departure to one of the most beautiful Croatian National parks, the na-tional park Krka, with a visit to the waterfalls. You will have a break for the traditional Dalmatian breakfast in a local tavern.

sightseeing tour of the pittoresque little city of Skradin. Skradin is well known, not only among sailors and nature lovers of the amaz-ing Krka waterfalls, not because of Bill Gates who has chosen it as his favourite holiday spot, but because of excellent food and wine. You will taste it in one of the best restaurants in the area of Skradin.

Real Šibenik – art, craft & gastro tour, a unique sightseeing tour of medie-val Šibenik. You will discover the past and the present of Šibenik, the rich histo-ry of the city and its traditions by visiting small craftsmen and artists scattered in the old town. After a walk through the old core of the city, we will take you to a local tavern which is located in a small alley with Mediterranean atmosphere, to taste Marenda - the traditional Dalmatian brunch. Marenda takes a very special place in Šibenik’s tradition. After visiting St.Francis museum and St.James Cathedral the tour will finish on the St.Michael fortress with a beautiful view on the whole archipelago.
