Dear Parents,

The 4th grade, 5th grade, and OES Chorus’ performance’s date has

changed and will be presented on November 17th and 18th. The

theme for this years concert is DECADES and we have not only been

singing songs from various decades, but we have also been looking at

what made each decade so interesting! We ask that you mark your cal-

endars and attend this totally rad performance.

Information for performers:

Please plan to dress in your favorite decade– please pick from the

ones studied in class (60’s, 70’s, 80’s or 90’s). Now is the time to find

your costume!

All music lyrics and a sample video of the songs can be found on

google classroom. Please make sure you are practicing!!!

More information will come out closer to the performance. Make sure

to check your child’s agenda book and Friday Folder.

Ms. Underhill

Our students were treated to Bubble

performance on October 21st, by our

fabulous PTO. As you can see the

students had a blast and we were told

by the presenter, Jason, that the stu-

dents were an awesome audience!

5th Grade students will have an opportunity to work with

Alana Adams, the Senior Director of Education of

Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, on November 2, 3, 4, &

plankton design by using a graphite direct trace transfer

for the outline and then placing it onto a scratch board.

They will talk about the difference between line and

shading as well as how to make different textures using

line. Out of the students finished works several will be

chosen to submit to the district for their annual publica-

tion of The River of Words book.

Special thanks to Mrs.

Bauer, PTO, and all of the

Volunteers that came to

talk to our students about

their careers. The stu-

learning!

Fall is in the air!! The kindergarten students went on a trip to Holiday

Farms Pumpkin Patch on Thursday, October 27th. During our visit, each

student saw a real pumpkin patch and picked out their very own

pumpkin to take home with them. Students also participated

in several fun activities and went on a hay ride.

Fall is Pumpkin Time! It is also a great time of year to explore the parts

of a plant through the theme of this memorable orange fruit. At the Caw-Caw Interpretive Center we'll scoop

seeds, role-play plant life cycles, and have fun decorating a pumpkin to

take home.
