NOMINATING COMMITTEE REPORT On September 25th, the congregation elected the following as Elders, Class of
2014: Steve Griffey, Sarah Hedstrom, Amy Lewellen, Susan Marks, Ivy Prall,
Tom Presler, Sue Reynolds, Ed Ritter, and Jane Wallace.
THE PROFESSIONAL STAFF COMMITTEE has been reviewing Pastor Information Forms and held telephone interviews with numerous candidates for Interim Pastor. The committee has scheduled 3 pastors to come to Clarksville soon to see our church and discuss the position face-to-face with the committee.
We are very encouraged by the candidates we have encountered in the search, and feel there will be a very good outcome from this process.
PHOTO MAKE-UP DAY Photo makeup sessions will be held in the parlor on Saturday, November 12, 12:30-3:00 pm. See the schedule on the bulletin board to sign up. StillView Photography, Teresa and Tom Steele, will be donating their time to help us with our new directory. They will offer photo packages with 10% of all orders to be donated to the FUEL program.
STEWARDSHIP SEASON As the seasons change from summer to fall, it is time to conduct our annual Stewardship campaign. The Finance and Stewardship committee has been hard at work preparing for this season in the church’s financial calendar. Please be sure to look for your pledge card to arrive by mail during the week of October 9th. As we did last year, the church office will gladly accept your pledge cards early so you do not have to wait until Dedication Sunday to return them. Thank you in advance for your prayerful consideration of how your family can support your church.

~ CONGREGATIONAL POTLUCK PICNIC ~ The congregational Potluck Picnic will be held on Sunday, October 2, at the Hudson Farm on Rosson Road from 3-5:00 pm. The Congregational Life Committee will grill hamburgers and hot dogs and provide potato chips, drinks, plates, cups, and eating utensils. You are asked to bring a large dish (serves 12-15) to share. I.E.: baked beans, deviled eggs, potato salad, slaw, casseroles, fruit plates, vegetable plates, brownies, pies, cookies, etc. Maps to the farm are on the table in the vestibule and outside the church office. The picnic will take the place of the 2nd Sunday lunch!
~ WORLD COMMUNION & PEACEMAKING SUNDAY~
We join Christians around the world in celebrating World Communion Sunday on Oct. 2. World Communion Sunday’s central focus is the Lord’s Supper and its unifying message for all who partake of it. The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) also marks the day by a call to peacemaking, urging us to be followers of the Prince of Peace. One concrete way that we do that is by receiving the Peacemaking Offering. Through this special offering, we work together with others in our presbytery/synod and nationally through the General Assembly’s Peacemaking Program to learn and live out the ways of peace. FPC will retain 25% of the Offering we receive for a community mission project. Another 25% goes to our presbytery or synod, and the remaining 50% goes to the General Assembly for peacemaking throughout the world.
