Birthday Celebrants

To start the spring 2018 quarter, the international office welcomes 9 amazing students from 7 different

countries. After coming to the US, the students got several days to adjust to the Pacific Northwest hours and

the wonderful weather in Bremerton. Orientation week started on Tuesday 03/27 and ended with a field

trip to Seattle on Friday 03/30. On the first day of orientation, the students were finishing up the necessary

paper work and got their student ID card done. On the second day, new students attended IT workshop

which provided the helpful information to prepare them for their upcoming courses at OC. Beside the work-

shop, they also got a chance to tour the beautiful OC Bremerton campus. On Thursday 03/29, students

attended presentation from our office staff and mentors. We had a fun get-to-know each other lunch time.

Last but not least, students got to spend a whole day walking around and experienced Seattle on Friday

03/30. Although they were all tired from walking, the students were excited to visit many of Seattle land-

marks like: Pike Place Market, Space Needle, China town, and Seattle Monorail. -Truc

Egg Tart is one of the local snacks in Hong Kong which is made by pastry crust and egg cus-tard, it tastes good when it is fresh from oven. The reason why it be-comes a popular and famous snacks in Hong Kong is the price is affordable for all the people, it is not a luxury food but everyone likes it, student who just left from school, workers who just got off work, must grab one in the bakery.

Fishball is made by fish paste (mostly for cods or had-docks). It tastes chewy and served
