Obergurgl is a beautiful village set at one of the highest points in the Tyrol province of Austria. Oburgurgl is famous for it’s fantastic snow fall record and high altitude of up to 3028m, with the resort sitting at 1930m. Obergurgl is often called the ‘The Diamond in the Alps’, and has enjoyed increasing popularity in recent years due to the charming village and snow sure skiing.

Obergurgl is an upmarket resort that boasts enough shopping and entertainment to suit year round visits. It was one of the first villages to introduce pedestrian zones and ban night traffic to ensure a high quality of life, and preserve the peace and tranquillity of the stunning Alpine setting.

The village is situated directly next to the Rosskar ski lift and is surrounded by 110km of fantastic ski slopes with a panorama gondola connecting the villages of Obergurgl and Hochgurgl.

Resort Information Getting ThereObergurgl is situated in the same valley as Sölden and being only 1hr 35minutes from Innsbruck airport means the town is perfectly located for weekend ski trips. Munich and Salzberg are both just over three hours away, and easily accessible year round.

Obergurgl is a fantastic place for winter activities, but it is in the summer that the scenery really comes into its own. Take the Hohe Mut walkers’ gondola lift up to one of Austria’s most beautiful mountains and enjoy the outstanding view of 21 peaks and numerous glaciers.

Then there are countless walking opportunities waiting for you, be it a family walk, a glacier tour or a mountain ascent. And if you fancy a change, there are a large range of bike trails too: leisurely paths in the valley and more challenging singletrack trains in the Ötztal mountains.

Then, if you’ve had enough of the mountains, why not have a go at some golf in the new 700m2 indoor Golf Adventure World which has realistic training conditions, ultramodern simulators and a large putting green.

After, when it’s time to relax there is a thermal spa down the road, with an aqua dome waterpark for the children to enjoy
