Mentor and NQT…..The Next Steps

The Autumn term will bring many challenges where you will need to consider:

Arranging a lesson observation during the first half of the term, followed by a review meeting with your Induction Tutor.

Arrange a further meeting to discuss your progress before the end of the second half of term.

Make certain that any targets set are clear, achievable and in line with your NQT action plan.

Begin organising a portfolio of evidence and cross-reference against each of the Teachers’ Standards.

Ensure that the NQT online assessment form is completed by your Induction Tutor, yourself and your Headteacher by the deadline. You can download and save a copy for yourself.

Identify your strengths and weaknesses.

What support is planned to help you meet your next set of targets?

You can also upload evidence that may be relevant.

What CPD courses will best meet your needs?

For NQT assessment login to BLT Online at

www.learningtrust.com

Are you working towards and being assessed against the current Teachers’ Standards (Revised 2012)? These and further information can be found on the GOV.UK website: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/teachers-standards

We have provided an NQT Standards Monitoring Sheet for your use to help track your evidence and to help you monitor and identify any gaps in your induction. This can be found and downloaded from our Key Forms page at http://nqt.learningtrust.net/

Formative Marking & Feedback

Confidence & Creativity for Teaching Primary PE

Thursday 28th April 2016, 12:00 to15:30 ALF Green Park Centre

Aimed at primary teachers who have limited or no training during their ITT. It is a practical course which will cover the basic fundamental skills (running, hopping, throwing, catching, striking and balancing). These are the precursor to the more specialised, complex skills used in games, sports, dance, gymnastics, outdoor education and play. The course will cover warm up ideas which reinforce the fundamental skills, provided practices which can be used across man activities and key generic PE teaching points. The course will introduce you to S.T.E.P. as a way of organising and differentiating your PE lesson. Go back to school with lots of ideas for your lessons!
