The questions will pertain to both the physical facilities and the library’s online resources. Thank you for taking the time to participate. Subjects: The study includes individuals who visit the library and are 18 or older. Number of Subjects: A maximum of 10 individuals will participate in each session. Study Procedures: The methods of data collections for this study will be focus groups. The sessions will be video-recorded and one group member will type all responses to ensure accurate reporting of the information provided. Six focus groups will be conducted and each session will last no longer than an hour.

Your participation in this evaluation is completely voluntary and you may withdraw your consent to participate at any time during the process.

Privacy:If you choose to participate, your names will only be on your signed consent form. You will not be addressed by name during the focus group.

Financial Information:

You will receive no financial compensation for participating in this study.

Hello everyone. Welcome to this focus group. We have come here today to hear your thoughts about the East Baton Rouge Parish Library and its resources that are made available to the public. My name is [insert name] and I will be moderating the focus group.

We will now ask you four different sets of questions, and [insert name] will be taking notes. We will use your answers to form a campaign that will bring awareness of the library resources to current library card holders, as well as the general public. All answers will remain anonymous and confidential. Feel free to speak up at any time, but one at a time. Also feel free to address one another, not just the moderator. Both positive and negative answers are welcome; we just ask that you please answer them to the best of your ability.

The session will go on no longer than one hour, with no break. If you need to be excused to go to the bathroom, it is located [list location]. Please help yourself to [food] and beverages during the session.
