Examination and CGPA failing which the admisstion form will not be accepted. 2) All the candidates claiming the reservation for Backward Classes should produce “Caste Certificate” in the name of the candidate issued by the Competent Authority of the Maharashtra Goverment clearly mentioning the Category of the candidate and also the remark that the caste is considered as Backward Class in the state of Maharashtra at the time of submission the admission form, failing which, the candidate will not be able to claim for the reservation. 3) Candidates belonging to Universities Other than University of Mumbai should submit self attested Xerox copies of all the three years B.Sc. Marksheets. 4) The candidates belonging to DT/NT, OBC and SBC categories should produce latest “Non Creamy layer Certificate” issued by Sub Divisional Officer/Deputy Collector of the district in addition to the caste certificate. In case if these candidates are not able to produce the latest “Non Creamy layer certificate” at the time of submission of application form, then such candidates will be treated as OPEN category candidates. ….2/-

5) 3% seats are reserved for the candidates who have

passed B.Sc. from the University other than University

of Mumbai.

6) The category of Physically Disadvantaged should

mention on the form and submit required certificates

issued by the competent Authority.

7) Gap Certificate on (Rs. 100/- Bond paper) if there is gap

after B.sc. passing.

8) Attach copy of the marriage certificate if the name is

changed after the marriage.

Admission to the M.Sc. degree Course (By Papers) 2015-16

The Head of the university Department / The Principals of the affiliated/constituent

Colleges in Arts, Commerce & Science and the Coordinator / Assistant Registrar, University

Sub Center, Ratnagiri are hereby notified that-

1 The Heads University Departments, Director, Ratnagiri sub-centre in Science

subjects will complete the admission procedure of M.Sc. (Part I) to on merit basis only

by following the reservation norms as described by University from time to time, on or

before 10th

September, 2015.

2 All the Principals of the Colleges having the courses for M.Sc. on unaided basis

(including Physics & Chemistry) except Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, and

Biochemistry will complete the admission procedure on merit basis by following the

reservation norms as described by University of Mumbai from time to time, on or

before 10th

September, 2015.

3 Admissions to the M.Sc. Degree course in the subjects of Chemistry (Aided),

Physics(Aided), Botany, Zoology, Microbiology and Biochemistry (Aided &

Unaided) for the Academic Year 2015 – 2016 will be made by the Post Graduate

Section of the University.

The students should collect and submit the admission forms for the M.Sc. degree course in

the subjects of Chemistry (Aided), Physics(Aided), Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, and

Biochemistry, on or before 07th

August, 2015. Copies of the prescribed application forms for

admission to the course can be obtained from the Finance & Accounts Office, Ground floor,

Room No. 13, University of Mumbai, Fort, Mumbai – 400 032, on payment of Rs.100/- (in

cash), from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm and 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm on week days except Second and

Fourth Saturdays from 27th

July, 2015.

4 The Centralized Admission Procedure (CAP) for the M.Sc. Degree course on Aided

basis in the subjects of 1) Organic Chemistry 2) Inorganic Chemistry 3) Analytical

Chemistry 4) Physical Chemistry and Physics will be as under :-

A) All colleges having UN-AIDED M.Sc. Chemistry and Unaided Physics

programme will give the admissions on merit by following reservation norms

declared by University of Mumbai from time to time, and will declare their own

schedule of admissions but all admissions should be completed on or before

10th

September, 2015.

The criteria to be taken into consideration for merit list for University admissions and

college admissions will be as follows :-

I) For Mumbai University Students :

a) The students who have been declared in First Class and above without grace

marks with as a single major subject out of 600 (Sem V & VI).

b) The CGPA will be considered if the marks are equels.

c) The students who have been declared passed in First Class with grace marks /

Second Class with as a single major subject out of 600. (Sem V & VI).

d) The students offering two major subjects, Chemistry as one of the subject at

T.Y.B.Sc. be admitted in order of merit by considering marks secured in

Chemistry at T.Y.B.Sc. only.

e) In case there is a tie in a), b) c) or (d) aggregate marks without grace marks out

of 800.

f) In case there is a tie in a), b), c) or d) then marks in theory out of 400 without

grace marks.

There will be one common merit list for all the students in each subject for the admissions to

be made by the Post Graduate Section of the University of Mumbai. The final merit list will

be displayed on the website of the University and also on the Notice Board of the Post

Graduate Studies Section, University of Mumbai, Fort, Mumbai – 400 032. Merit list will also

be mailed to the Colleges provided; mail address is communicated to the University.

II) For other University Students :

Marks declared by the concerned University at T.Y.B.Sc. Examination and as shown in

mark sheet in the subject of Chemistry will be considered for preparing the merit list as per

quota available for other University students.
