2015 Administrative Professionals Day Conference AgendaEmcee: Antonio Robinson, Director of Trident Technical College Upward Bound Math and Science (TRIO)

Karen Wrighten, Dean, Trident Technical College Berkeley CampusAs dean of the Berkeley Campus, Karen Wrighten is responsible for overall campus management including planning, development and implementation of a comprehensive programmatic agenda for the campus in keeping with the college’s mission. Karen holds a bachelor of arts in political science and public administration from South Carolina State University and a master’s degree in management from Webster University. She has received numerous awards and serves on the board of the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Wrighten resides in St. Stephen, South Carolina with her husband and their two daughters.

Dr. Willette Burnham, Executive Director of Student Programs and Student Diversity, MUSCWillette S. Burnham, Ph.D. has over 35 years of experience in higher education. She has served at Williamsburg Technical College, The Citadel Military College of SC, College of Charleston and MUSC. Currently, Dr. Burnham is a member of the Associate Provost for Education and Student Life’s senior leadership team at MUSC and serves on several national, state and local boards. She earned her bachelor’s from Trinity College Hartford Connecticut and a master of education and doctor of philosophy in educational administration from the University of South Carolina. Dr. Burnham is the proud mother of three children and has four granddaughters.

Stacy Bruder, Interactive Sales Director, Digital Advertising, The Post and CourierStacy Bruder has worked within sales, marketing and advertising for national companies in the fields of publishing, video conferencing, real estate development and now local digital media. Throughout her more than 20+ years of experience, Stacy has volunteered her time to nonprofits that are in need of her professional skills to help achieve their mission. Most recently, she has served on the board of a newly formed 501(c)3, Shotgun Fairies, which is dedicated to raising funds for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® to fight breast cancer.

Chef Michael Carmel, Department Head of the Culinary Institute of Charleston, Trident Technical CollegeChef Michael Carmel has over 35 years of experience as an industry chef and educator in post-secondary education. He received his culinary education at the Culinary Institute of America and earned a master’s in adult education from National Louis University. He was vice president of education at Le Cordon Bleu College in Orlando and a chef educator and culinary director at several prestigious culinary schools in Chicago and Florida including Arts Institute and Kendall College. Chef Carmel has served on the Board of Trustees for the American Culinary Federation (ACF) and is an ACF Certified Executive Chef and Certified Culinary Educator for ACF. He also serves as a Certified Certification Judge for all ACF testing.

Lisa Fought, Director of Programming, Trident Technical College Division of Continuing Education and Economic Development Lisa Fought started her career in higher education in 2002 as a college adjunct allied health instructor. Over the past 12 years, Lisa has held various positions in higher education management with emphasis in enrollment management, faculty development and health care program management. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in applied health science and a master’s degree in adult education from Capella University. Lisa is also a fitness fanatic who enjoys running and teaching group fitness classes. Lisa is also mother to two handsome boys and wife to her husband Josh.

Dr. Daphne Holland, Personal Enrichment and Youth Development Program Manager, Trident Technical College Division of Continuing Education and Economic Development A native of North Carolina, Dr. Daphne Holland has over fifteen years of experience working in higher education with adult learners. She holds a bachelor of science in education and a master’s degree in English education from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke where she also played intercollegiate basketball and softball. In addition, she earned her Ph.D. in educational leadership from Clemson University. She enjoys traveling, the beach and will admit to being a Redskins fan.
