NEW MONTH, SAME TEAM: Following last night’s 10-4

blowout victory over the Padres, the Dodgers continue their five-

game road trip (2-1) tonight with the middle half of the three-game

weekend set at San Diego. Los Angeles, which has been victorious

in 19 of 22 contests since June 7, extended its National League best

record to 54-28 (.659) and are now just 0.5 games behind the Astros

for the best record in baseball. Following the series against the Friars

and the off day on Monday, the Boys in Blue will head back home

to close out the first-half of the season with a six-game homestand

against the Diamondbacks and the Royals before the All-Star break.

The Dodgers, who have gone 6-1 against the Padres this

season, have not lost the season series to San Diego since

going 9-10 in 2010. Since the start of the 2015 campaign,

the Dodgers divisional record against the Padres is

among the best in the National League:

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Padres 31-14 (.689)

New York Mets vs. Phillies 31-14 (.689)

The Dodgers’ +147 run differential is the best in the Major

Leagues, 31 runs better than the Houston Astros (+116).

Since June 7, Los Angeles has outscored opponents 142-

The Dodgers, who have hit home runs in 21 of their last 22

games since June 7, rank fourth in the NL in home runs

(115), trailing the Brewers (123), Nationals (121) and Mets

(118). The team has hit 50 homers in its last 22 games and

is averaging 2.24 home runs per game during that span:

50 homers in each of two consecutive months.

SIMPLY THE BEST: The Dodgers lead the Majors with a 3.24
