It was announced by Nikon Corporation on 6 January 2016 along with the Nikon D5 FX format camera. It replaced the D300S as Nikon's DX format flagship DSLR. On 23 February 2017, at CP+ show, a special edition was released for Nikon's 100th anniversary. Nikon D810 [6008579] 2014 – 2017 36.3 MP Full frame | 7360 x 4912 | 35.9 x 24 mm The Nikon D810 is a 36.3-megapixel professional-grade full-frame digital single-lens reflex camera produced by Nikon. The camera was ocially announced in June 2014, and became available in July 2014. Compared to the former D800/D800E it oers an image sensor with a base sensitivity of ISO 64 and extended range of ISO 32 to 51,200, an Expeed processor with noise reduction with claimed 1 stop noise improvement, doubled buer size, increased frame rate and extended battery life, improved autofocus - now similar to the D4S, improved video with 1080p 60 fps and many software improvements. Nikon FA black [5335845] 1985 – 1993 135mm Film SLR | 24 x 36 mm | 1983–1990 The FA was the most sophisticated member of the remarkably long-lived, classic Nikon compact F-series SLRs and was built upon a compact but rugged copper- aluminum alloy chassis developed from the ones used by the earlier Nikon FM (introduced in 1977), FE (1978), FM2 (1982) and FE2 (1983) cameras. The Nikon FA is a historically significant camera. It was the first camera to oer a multi-segmented (or matrix or evaluative) exposure light meter, called Automatic Multi- Pattern (AMP). It had a built-in microprocessor computer programmed to automatically analyze dierent segments of the light meter field of view and select a corrected exposure. Virtually all cameras today, whether film, video or digital, have some sort of matrix metering. Nikon D800E [6010886] 2012 – 2015 36.3 MP Full frame | 7360 x 4912 | 35.9 x 24 mm The D800E is a specialized version which uses a new optical anti-aliasing filter with no low-pass filter eect (no blurring) to obtain the sharpest images possible. Nikon claims that possible aliasing eects (moiré) can be lessened by software-processing in camera or external programs like Nikon's Capture NX2. Reviewers have pointed out that whilst increased moiré is dicult to remove in post-processing, it is relatively easy to combat while photo-taking (such as by changing the angle, aperture or position). Furthermore, moire is rarely found in photos (besides man-made, repeated patterns such as in architecture). Hence, most recommend the D800E, as the lack of low-pass filter brings about a noticeable improvement in optical resolution. Nikon F100 [2131820] 1999 – 2020 135mm Film SLR | 24 x 36 mm | 1999–2006 The Nikon F100 is a 35mm film-based single-lens reflex camera body introduced in 1999. It is often thought of as a scaled-down version of the Nikon F5, and as a precursor to the Nikon F6. The F100 was discontinued, along with most other Nikon film cameras, in 2006. Nikon F90 [2084057] 1993 – 1999 135mm Film SLR | 24 x 36 mm | 1992–1999 The Nikon F90 is a 35mm SLR camera manufactured between 1992 and 2001 and replaced the earlier Nikon F-801. At the time of its release it was noted for its fast autofocus speed compared to previous Nikon models, which had lagged behind competitor Canon's. It was thus seen by many as a 'stop-gap' measure to prevent the mass migration of many Nikon-using professional photographers to Canon, as Nikon's next fully professional camera, the F5, was some time away from release. The Nikon F4, the professional model available at the time of the F90's release, had very slow autofocus compared to Canon's autofocus SLRs. Nikon D300 [4092892] 2008 – 2009 12.2 MP DX CMOS | 4288 x 2848 | 23.6 x 15.8 mm The Nikon D300 is a 12.3-megapixel semi-professional DX format digital single-lens reflex camera that Nikon Corporation announced on 23 August 2007 along with the Nikon D3 FX format camera. It replaced the D200 as Nikon's DX format flagship DSLR. The D300 was ocially discontinued by Nikon on September 11, 2009. Nikon D700 [2152082] 2009 – 2012 12.1 MP Full frame CMOS | 4256 x 2832 | 36 x 23.9 mm The Nikon D700 is a professional-grade full-frame digital single-lens reflex camera introduced by the Nikon Corporation in July 2008 and manufactured in Japan. It uses the same 12.1-megapixel "FX" CMOS image sensor as the Nikon D3, and is Nikon's second full-frame digital SLR camera. Nikkormat FTn [4153002] 1972 – 2020 135mm Film SLR | 24 x 36 mm | 1967–1975 The Nikkormat FT was an all-metal, mechanically (springs, gears, levers) controlled, manual focus SLR with match- needle exposure control, manufactured in Japan from 1965 to 1967. It was available in two colors: black with chrome trim and all black. The Nikkormat FTn was manufactured from 1967 to 1975. It simplified the lens mounting procedure of the rabbit ear Nikkor lenses. Nikon D200 [4065031] 2006 – 2008 10.2 MP DX CCD | 3872 x 2592 | 23.6 x 15.8 mm The Nikon D200 is a 10.2-megapixel digital single-lens reflex camera that falls between entry-level/midrange DSLR cameras such as the Nikon D40, Nikon D40x, and D80 and high-end models such as the Nikon D2Hs and D2Xs. It was released by the Nikon Corporation in November 2005. Nikon D4S [2001683] 2014 – 2016 16 MP Full frame | 4928 x 3280 | 36 x 23.9 mm The Nikon D4S is a full frame professional DSLR camera announced by Nikon Corporation on February 25, 2014 to succeed the D4 as its flagship DSLR. The D4S oers a number of improvements over its predecessor including a new image sensor, new image processor, new battery, improved ergonomics and expanded ISO range. Additionally, improved auto focus (AF) algorithms and a new AF Tracking mode were introduced together with a new option of RAW image capture in full resolution (16 MP) or a "Small" file (4 MP). The D4S received a Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) 2014 Award "Best Digital SLR Professional" and a European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) award "European Professional DSLR Camera 2014-2015" Nikon D70 [4011021] 2004 – 2006 6.24 MP DX CCD | 3008 x 2000 | 23.7 x 15.6 mm The Nikon D70 is a digital single-lens reflex camera, introduced at the 2004 PMA Annual Convention and Trade Show, as Nikon's first consumer-level digital SLR, and a competitor to the Canon EOS 300D. Nikon D800 [6008525] 2012 – 2014 36.3 MP Full frame | 7360 x 4912 | 35.9 x 24 mm The Nikon D800 is a 36.3-megapixel professional-grade full-frame digital single-lens reflex camera produced by Nikon Corporation. It was given a Gold Award by Digital Photography Review. It was ocially announced on February 7, 2012 and went on sale in late March 2012 for the suggested retail price of $ 2999.95 in the U.S. and 2892 in the Eurozone. Nikon D850 [6002848] 2017 45.75 MP Full frame | 8256 x 5504 | 35.9 x 23.9 mm The Nikon D850 is a professional-grade full-frame digital single-lens reflex camera (DSLR) produced by Nikon. The camera was ocially announced on July 25, 2017 (the 100th anniversary of Nikon's founding), launched on August 24, 2017, and expected to be shipped in September 2017. The D850 is the first Nikon DSLR featuring a back- illuminated image sensor claiming overall a one-stop image quality (image noise) improvement. It will be the successor to the Nikon D810.
