• Nigeria is an African country.• The climate has 2 dry seasons – It is hot and humid in the south all year round and

hot and dry in the north.• Nigeria has a population of 154,729,000 people.• Nigeria have never won a Soccer World Cup and have played in 3.• The country of Nigeria is currently divided into 36 different states and Abuja, which is

the federal capital Territory.• Abuja is a planned city and was built during the 1980s. It became the Capital City in

December 1991. Lagos was the previous Capital City.• Millennium Park is the largest public park of Abuja. It was officially opened by the

Queen in December 2003. One side of the park is dedicated to organic nature – protected tree species and animals. The Cotton Tree is the Holy Tree of Abuja.

• Nigeria officially became a nation of the Commonwealth in 1960.• Nigeria has competed at 11 Commonwealth Games from 1950.• Nigeria lost it’s first bid to host a Commonwealth games – 2014 – to Scotland.

player must leave the field immediately and can not return to play or play in the next match.

• The Capital city of South Africa is Pretoria.• Green Point stadium in Cape Town is one of the two
