We need your help to grow—the Association has started its Fall Membership drive—we have the lowest local dues in the District as well as lower pricing for lock boxes and Supra keys. Until December 31st, the application fees are being waived for new and transferring members.

The education schedule is being set for next year and your topics of interest are

important to us—send them to Info@centralpascorealtors.org.

Don’t miss the October Technology meeting. On October 13th, you will receive information that a non-technical Realtor® can put to use to take you from ordinary to extraordinary. Also, the Affiliates will be electing a Director to join us on the Board of Directors for the 2011-2012 year.

CONGRATULATIONS ~ CPAR Member Russ Laggan has been appointed as CPAR Education Director. He has created a Monthly Market Update video that will keep us informed and know what’s REALLY going on. The first video is a bit long at 7 minutes but includes a bit of history with it. The “monthly market update” will usually be less than 2 minutes.

Also, Russ just achieved a personal goal of completing a Racing Ironman Triathlon in Atlanta with a time of 6:17:54.

Russ says, “The Racing Ironman 70.3 has been a goal of mine for the last three years after doing my first sprint distance triathlon in '09 on a dare. It is the pinnacle of the triathlon sport and known to be one of the toughest races out there. The challenge is really being able to train and race in all three sports while balancing family and work.”

This race included a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile hilly bike, and the brutal 13.1 mile run to finish off the race. The

race distance is 70.3 miles total.

CPAR BOARD OF DIRECTORS’ MINUTES

June, 2011

It was decided to move from monthly GMM to quarterly GMMs. The next GMM will be the 2nd Thursday of the last month of the quarter - September 8, 2011.

Educational sessions can still be held monthly or as designated by committee. Educational ses-sions can be sponsored and not necessarily a luncheon or paid program. We can find a bigger room and light sodas/cookies for refreshments provided by a sponsor.

July, 2011

Lynn Mooney presented proposal from Florida Realtors and East and West Pasco to consolidate/merge the three boards into one board. East Pasco has already voted not to do this. Even if we merged, we would not have enough members for an NAR Director position. In addition, the dues would take a significant increase for CPAR.

MOTION THAT CPAR NOT AGREE TO ANY MERGER BETWEEN THE PASCO BOARDS. PASSED

Award of Excellence-Juanita Dennis Award

Each year the Central Pasco Association of REALTORS honors the Realtor of the Year, the Affiliate Company of the Year, the Bill Moorer Award recipient, and the Award of Excellence-Juanita

Dennis Award.

The ballot for each of these awards is listed above and we need your submissions in order to make this a successful Awards portion of the Installation Banquet on Thursday, November 10th, 6:30 pm at The Rusty Pelican, 2425 North Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607. Submission are due to Awards@centralpascorealtors.org no later than 5:00 pm on October 7.

REALTOR OF THE YEAR This award recognizes the Association member who exemplifies what it means to be a REALTOR. They have been active in the Association, contributing freely of themselves and their talents, promoting the REALTOR image in the community on behalf of the Association. They volunteer because they know each person can make a difference. They are ongoing examples of the professionalism exemplified by the Code of Ethics to which they are committed. Winners are honored for their great individual lifetime contributions to their local

Board, Florida REALTORS and the National Association of REALTORS. Current officers are not eli-gible for this award. Directors are eligible for this award.

AFFILIATE COMPANY OF THE YEAR ~ REALTORS and Affiliates work hand-in-hand toward smooth real estate transactions. Their strategic partnership transcends business and blends into countless fac-ets that benefit this distinctive liaison. Our Association honors an AFFILIATE COMPANY OF THE YEAR who has gone beyond the call of duty to work for the Association and its members. They display unselfish teamwork as they volunteer their time and energy for our Board.

BILL MOORER AWARD ~ Bill was a past president of the Land O'Lakes Board many years ago, who passed away in the 1980s. Bill presided over the Board with such distinction that this award was named in his honor. The purpose of this award is to honor a non-REALTOR in our community who has made a difference in the lives of others, and who has selflessly served our community by contributing their time, energy and talents to the benefit of all. It is awarded to someone with many years of service to the com-munity.

AWARD OF EXCELLENCE - COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN (Juanita Dennis Award) ~ This award goes to the Committee Chairman who has exhibited outstanding leadership and service to the committee. It is named in honor of the late Juanita Dennis, 1996 Board President.
