Franklin Mesa, Doctoral Student in Clinical Psychology Born and raised in Maryland just outside of Washington, D.C., Franklin graduated in 2009 with a B.S. in psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park. As an undergraduate, Franklin conducted research as a McNair Scholar, which fueled his interest in clinical research. Franklin's research interests include deficits and difficulties experienced by adolescents with social phobia, adults with PTSD, cognitive-behavioral treatments of anxiety disorders, and cross-cultural research related to anxiety disorders/PTSD, particularly in Latino populations. He hopes to obtain a position in academia while also practicing in some capacity as a clinician. Aside from his interest in anxiety disorders, Frank enjoys playing and watching sports, listening to all sorts of music, driving, Maryland blue crabs (with Old Bay seasoning, of course) and home-style Dominican food.
