I hope all of you and the people close to you are doing well. There is no doubt that with such a situation that we are experiencing it continues to be a difficult time for all of us.

The Committee is developing a plan to return to our normal activities always mindful

that we must also respect any guidelines and restrictions the Government and Health Authorities suggest. This is not to say that we have been dormant during the past 3 months, in fact, many of you have enjoyed our successful Take-away menu that has meant that a taste of Friuli has continued to be enjoyed by households across Adelaide.

Moving forward, the Fogolar Furlan will open on Sunday the 9th August with a restricted (but always delicious) menu for our patrons, followed by quails and polenta on the menu on the 30th August.

In September our calendar will start in earnest. With the first Sunday in September, also being Fathers’ Day, the club will be open for a simple but tasty meal every Sunday evening. You will also note that quails and Polenta will be offered every third Sunday of the month from now on, starting with September 20th and Gnocchi Night will resume on the first Friday every other month starting on the 2nd of October. Our Take-Away Menu will continue to be offered every Friday night for the time being.

We have tried to keep in touch during this period of social distancing, now that restrictions are easing, we look forward to our meeting face to face, but to avoid disappointment, please ensure that you book.

Please note that due to the disruption of Covid19, our General Assembly will now be on the 18th October. I urge you to support your club by maintaining your membership fees, which are in fact due according to the constitution, in August, but at least by the General Assembly.

I encourage you to note the amended calendar included. It’s been a long time since we have been able to meet in person and I particularly look forward to seeing you at these events.

Spero che tutti voi e le persone a voi vicine stiate godendo buona salute. Non c’è dubbio che la situazione che stiamo vivendo, continua a essere un momento difficile per tutti noi.

Il Comitato sta sviluppando un piano per tornare alle nostre normali attività, sempre consapevoli che dobbiamo anche rispettare tutte le linee guida e le restrizioni suggerite dal governo e dalle autorità sanitarie. Questo non vuol dire che siamo stati dormienti negli ultimi 3 mesi, infatti, molti di voi avete apprezzato il nostro menu ‘Take-away’ che ha significato con successo, che un assaggio del Friuli ha continuato ad essere apprezzato da diverse famiglie di Adelaide.

Inoltre, il Fogolar Furlan aprirà con cena, domenica 9 agosto con un menu limitato (ma sempre delizioso) per i membri e simpatizzanti, sarà seguito da quaglie e polenta nel menu della domenica 30 agosto.

A settembre il nostro calendario inizierà sul serio. Incominciando con la prima domenica di settembre, essendo anche la festa del papà, il club sarà aperto per un pasto semplice ma gustoso ogni domenica sera. Le quaglie e la Polenta saranno offerte ogni terza domenica del mese a partire dal 20 settembre e la Gnocchi Night riprenderà il primo venerdì del mese alternato incominciando dal 2 ottobre.

Abbiamo cercato di tenerci in contatto durante questo periodo di distanziamento sociale, ora che le restrizioni si stanno alleviando, non vediamo l'ora di incontrarci faccia a faccia, ma per evitare delusioni, assicuratevi di prenotare.

Notate inoltre, che a causa dell'interruzione di Covid19, la nostra Assemblea Generale è stata spostata al 18 ottobre. Vi esorto a sostenere il vostro club mantenendo le quote associative, che in realtà sono dovute secondo la costituzione, ad Agosto, ma almeno per l'Assemblea Generale.

Vi incoraggio a prendere atto del calendario modificato incluso. È passato molto tempo da quando siamo riusciti a incontrarci di persona e non vedo l'ora di vederti a questi eventi.

Report from Maintenance Manager Nicola Ianera.

MULTICULTURAL AFFAIRS GRANT

The club has been successful in receiving a grant of

$10,000.00 + GST to be used in upgrading infrastructure.

The kitchen will have new stainless steel sinks and spray taps as well as new benches in stainless steel to each end of the food preparation table.

The downlights throughout the club will be replaced with energy saving led fittings. Considerable saving will be made with these energy efficient lamps.

The work will proceed in the very near future. ACTIVE CLUB PROGRAM

The Club was also successful in receiving an amount of

$5,000.00 + GST through the Active CIub Program on behalf of the Bocce members.

The money was requested for purchasing a "Defibrillator" which has been installed in the foyer of the club.

A new emergency first aid kit has also been installed in the kitchen.

The first aid kit donated by the bocce players has been installed next to the Members’ Bar.

SOVVENZIONE DAGLI AFFARI MULTICULTURALI

Il club ha avuto successo nel ricevere una sovvenzione di $10.000,00 + GST da utilizzare per l'aggiornamento dell'infrastruttura.

La cucina avrà nuovi lavelli e rubinetti spray in acciaio inossidabile, nonché nuove panchine in acciaio inossidabile a ciascuna estremità del tavolo di preparazione degli alimenti.

Le luci a led in tutto il club saranno sostituite con apparecchi a led a risparmio energetico. Con queste lampade a risparmio energetico si otterrà un notevole risparmio. I lavori proseguiranno nel prossimo futuro.

PROGRAMMA DI CLUB ATTIVO

Il Club ha anche avuto successo nel ricevere un importo di $5.000,00 + GST attraverso il programma Active CIub per conto dei membri bocciofili.

Il denaro è stato richiesto per l'acquisto di un "Defibrillatore" che è stato installato nell'atrio del club.

Un nuovo kit di pronto soccorso di emergenza è stato installato anche in cucina.

Il kit di pronto soccorso donato dai giocatori di bocce è stato installato accanto al bar dei membri.

Dopo il successo della prima stampa, abbiamo una ristampa del libro del 60 ° anniversario "The pride of our past". Se qualcuno di voi è interessato ad averne una copia, si prega di contattare il club al più presto possibile al numero 0414 459 658.

In our busy lives, it’s easy to overlook details... such as paying the Fogolar Furlan membership fee! This is due each year in August or at our Annual General Meeting (which will be held on October 18th). If you haven’t yet paid your $40 (ordinary member) or $30 (concession), we would appreciate your prompt response.

We were very proud when our members, Paula Parolin, Diana Parolin and Franca Antonello were entertained by the wife of the Governor, the Honourable Hieu Van Le, at Government House, for their voluntary work with the unique meal service of Nonna’s Cucina.

Siamo stati molto orgogliosi quando i nostri membri, Paula Parolin, Diana Parolin e Franca Antonello sono state intrattenute dalla moglie del governatore, l'Onorevole Hieu Van Le, al Palazzo del Governo, per il loro volontariato con l'esclusivo servizio di refezioni della Nonna Cucina.
