Generously supported by Straumann USA LLC, the awards of $2,000 are presented to the primary au- thors of the winning manuscripts. The AAOMS Commit- tee on Continuing Education and Professional Develop- ment selects the winners. Those positions will be filled with individuals who will each have 3-year terms. The responsibilities of the Editorial Board members are as follows: Serve as peer reviewers for papers assigned to them by Section Editors. Attend an Editorial Board meeting once a year to help guide the Journal’s future. Identify new peer reviewers for the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Provide advice to the editorial-in-chief and associate editor, including reviewing drafts of editorials. Nomination of others or self-nominations should be made no later than 5:00 PM Eastern daylight time, No- vember 1, 2012. The nomination should include a brief description of why the individual being nominated will be a valuable member of the Board and a current cur- riculum vitae. Nominees must be members of the AAOMS and practice oral and maxillofacial surgery in the United States. Editorial board members whose terms are ending can also be nominated. All documents must be submitted electronically to [email protected]. Robert L. Bunnen, DDS, retired fellowAtlanta, GA

1922 to 2012Dr Bunnen received his dental degree from Em-

ory University in Atlanta and completed his oraland maxillofacial surgery residency at Tufts Univer-sity in Boston. After his residency, he returned toAtlanta and was among the group of physicianswho established Northside Hospital. He was on thehospital staff from 1968 to 1992. Dr Bunnen issurvived by his wife, son, 2 daughters, and 8 grand-children.
