    TECHNICAL FEASIBILITY

    1. Product

    a. Description and specifications of the product, including weight, size, and physical

    and chemical properties.

    The products are custom made jewellery ranging from earrings to necklaces

    and more. The jewellery is made from gold, silver, platinum and gems which

    are designed by in house designers.

    The jewellery thus designed varies in terms of proportions of various materials used

    depending upon the specification and budget of the customers.

    BIS certification to be obtained to ascertain quality to customers.

    and factors used in determining the process to be employed.

    Raw material and the finished jewellery to be tested by government approved testing

    labs for certifying gold and diamond carats.

    3. Plant size and production schedule

    a. Rated annual and daily plant capacity, at a given number of shifts per day and number

    of operating days per year.

    Number of working days in a year are 310 days and working in one shift. Time taken

    to manufacture jewellery depends upon the kind of jewellery item to be produced, e.g.

    a gold ring takes 3-4 days of processing while a necklace could take upto a month of

    processing.

    b. Expected annual production volume for the next five years

    The expected annual production of some articles is as follows:

    Delivery of raw materials is done by the suppliers through vehicles accompanied by security

    personnel and the delivery is made hand to hand.

    6. Structures

    a. Buildings - area, specification and built-in utitilies and airconditioning facilities

    Buildings

    The building will be divided in to four sections Vault for storing raw materials

    and finished product, manufacturing facility, design studio and general office.

    The building would be spread in 2500 sq. ft of area of which 1500 sq.ft would be

    utilized for manufacturing purpose, while 400 sq.ft. would be utilized for Vault

    and rest 600 sq. ft. Is to be utilized for office and design studio.

    The plant would have air handling units to remove metal particulates from the air

    and air conditioning units to provide protection to the workers from heat

    b. Other facilities

    The plant would have waste disposal and effluent treatment system for water

    waste generated from the manufacturing process. The metals would be

    recollected from the waste using suitable technology.

    7. Raw Materials

    a. Specifications or description (physical and chemical)

    Gold- It is available in the form of bullions in the international and national

    markets. The quality of gold is measured in karats highest karats being 24. The

    gold bars may range from 1gm to 1 kg. The gold bars will be purchased from

    various nationalized banks which are authorized by government to sell gold bars.

    Also it can be purchased from Mineral and Metals Trading Corporation (MMTC).

    Silver- It is also available in the form of bullions in the international and national

    markets. The quality of silver is represented in terms of percentages. Silver forms

    alloy with many other metals, thus many types of silver are available such as

    german silver, Mexican silver, fine silver, etc. The size of silver bars may range

    from 1 ounce to 1000 ounces. Silver would be purchased from banks.

    Platinum- The purity of Platinum is calculated in terms of Plat (pt). The general

    accepted standard for Platinum of 95% pure platinum (950 pt). The size of a

    platinum bar is 10 ounces provided by Monex Precious Metals, Caifornia, USA.
