Open Items from Last Meeting:

Art Gala

o Friday is the best day of the week for club.

o Trista needs someone to sit in for the first 15-20 minutes until she is able to get to

the school. Sue graciously volunteered to be that person.

o The club will start in January and meet 1 time per month (4 mtgs in total) from

3:30-4:30 PM

o 1920’s theme – colored pencils to be the medium used.

o Students will create 1920’s themed posters that will be laminated for auction.

o Instead of speeches, etc at the Gala, the plan is to have a 1920’s dance.

o Flyers to go out before Christmas.

o PLEASE NOTE UPDATE as of 1/03/2016: Art Gala Club to start in February, not

January as stated at time of December 8th PTO Meeting.

Standing Items:

Yearbook Club

o The cover contest is in process. There are 5 covers that are being voted on. They

are hanging outside of the Art Room. The entries were submitted by 6th graders

and then the entries were narrowed down by the club members.

o The club members are very engaged. Even asking for more projects to do.

o We have had over the top support from the 6th grade teachers thus far.

o As always, they are continually focused on the improvement of each student and

that is shown in the scores that school has received.

o Physical Education:

The students are not in front of the computer the whole time.

They are using rotational learning, same as the classrooms.

Trying to use the tech they are fortunate to have in a purposeful way.

It is refreshing to her that they are able to see their progress in PE

measured.

o Teachers are all working together collaboratively as they feel that is best way for

the students.

o Students are happy at school.
