CHARITY ART AUCTIONNESSUNO ESCLUSO

NESSUNO ESCLUSO 2016HOSTS ‘LIGHT & SHADOWS’ CHARITY AUCTION, COLLABORATING WITH 38 LEADING EUROPEAN ARTISTS IN SUPPORT OF THE FREE COUNSELING PRACTICE OF MINOTAURO INSTITUTE

Over 40 artworks by 38 artists, including both world acclaimed talents and emerging names, whose works are exhibited at some of the world’s major museums, will depict the conflicting relationships between the theme of ‘light and shadows’. Contributors include; the masters of Italian photography - Gabriele Basilico, Franco Fontana, Massimo Vitali, Walter Niedermayr, Mario Cresci, Alessandra Spranzi, Settimio Benedusi, Maurizio Galimberti and George Tatge. Included in the sculpture and painting catalogue; Mimmo Paladino, Lara Favaretto, Giovanni Frangi, Andrea Chiesi, Louis Cane, Giorgio Vigna and multimedia artist Debora Hirsch and Joykix.

Nessuno Escluso 2016 (meaning ‘nobody excluded’) will aim to raise funds to support the Free Counseling Practice at the Minotauro, Milan. Each year this initiative aims to help 100 families of teenage children affected by mental health issues with a combined household income below 20,000 euros. The proceeds of the event will be donated to this initiative supervised by two of Italy’s leading psychotherapists and psychiatrists; Gustavo Pietropolli Charmet and Dr. Davide Comazzi, offering treatment not only to the children but also to their families, at no cost.

Contemporary art collector and Founder of Nessuno Escluso, Silvia Marzocco hosted the charity’s first event in 2014, raising over 213,000 euros. The auction, featuring 40 works by 32 contemporary artists, raised funds to offer first-class support to 100 children from low-income families through the Minotauro Free Practice.

As for the 2014 edition, the auction proceedings will be managed by Christie’s international London auctioneer, Clarice Pecori Giraldi. Commenting on the event; “I am grateful for the opportunity to support the Free Counseling Practice at Minotauro. I have benefited personally from the skills of such professionals and to be able to support a service that will give this opportunity to others, regardless of what is often a considerable investment, is important to me.”

In an effort to engage the support of young communities, talented students of the Ecole Superiore d'Arts Plastiques will contribute to the curation of the exhibition at the Tunnel.

Another key contributor to this year’s event is young designer Giovanna Della Bella, who will create 152 custom-made clutch bags, each designed as an art piece. Each piece will be sold at a fixed price outside of the auction.

Artist Massimo Vitali comments on Nessuno Escluso 2016: “Donating works to charity is very important to me and a small way to give back and to try to balance the many difficult things happening in the world. As I have a son who is 17 and know how challenging adolescence can be, I think the work of Nessuno Escluso is particularly important”.

Giovanna Clavenzi adds: “I decided to support this project with work from my husband Gabriele Basilico for two reasons, the first because Gabriele has always supported this kind of initiative with great enthusiasm and I would like to keep this alive. Secondly because the Free Practice of Minotauro does extraordinary work for Milan and Italy and the minimum we can do is to try to support the project.”

Silvia Marzocco, Founder, Nessuno Escluso comments: “This is a project created with the sole purpose of supporting the incredible work that the therapists of the Minotauro Free Counseling Practice provide to the teenagers and families involved. To continue this great work, the second edition of Nessuno Escluso. ‘Light and Shadow’, unites artists by a common theme, some creating works exclusively for the event and others donating from their personal archives.

Professor Charmet, Founder of the Minotauro Institute, adds: "Due to an increasing number of patients in need, and a lack of public funds, our service is in dire need of financial support to ensure continuity of treatment. The generosity of benefactors and friends who worked so hard to make the last edition of ‘Nessuno Escluso’ such a success has enabled us to move forward. Nessuno Escluso 2016 is a crucial event for the Free Counseling programme. It will enable us to make a longer term commitment to help young people with challenging futures to see hope.”

Nessuno Escluso 2016 is sponsored by private banks; Edmond de Rothschild, BSI Bank and Safra Sarasin plus; Christie’s ,Monaco Boat Service, EPI Communication Monaco and Realis Photos. Supporter of the initiative - Mr Sergio Serapioni.
