    What is the purpose of the Ski Jump at thefront of aircraft carriers?

    The ski jump is an ingeniousBritish invention.

    It is used by fixed wing aircraft,such as the harrier, to takeoff in short distances.

    It helps the aircraft take off bygiving it a "push" in anupward direction at the

    moment of launch.

    the hull line being continuous. Type 42 Destroyers batch 3 are different to batch 1 and
