REQUIREMENTS FOR NAVY BMD

• “...deployment of Navy Area first, followed as quickly as possible by Navy Theater Wide, is the best way to guarantee assured access to the littoral APODs and SPODs upon which our overall National Strategy depends.”

• “The Navy Area TBMD Program is essential to National Security.”

• “…the DPG places priority on capabilities…to overcome so-called anti-access technologies and tactics.…calls for investment in missile defense…”

• “The challenges the Nation faces do not loom in the distant future, but are here now. They must involve protecting our critical bases of operation…and projecting and sustaining U.S forces in distant anti-access environment.”
