Introduction to Teletrac Drive

Teletrac Drive is a comprehensive application suite that offers users a variety of advanced in-vehicle apps, including turn-by-turn, voice guided navigation and two-way messaging. Teletrac tablets are fully equipped with the built-in Drive suite, allowing drivers to stay guided on an easy-to-use platform.

This guide describes how to use the Navigation and Messaging Apps.

Messaging Message IndicatorThe messaging icon at the right of a tablet’s screen notifies a driver when a message has been received.

New messages: . An alert sound quickly lets drivers know when new messages are waiting in the inbox.

Note: The device’s sound settings must be on and on high volume for the alert feature to work properly.

Note: The driver may only reply to a Dispatch messages once. When a driver wishes to contact Dispatch again, they must do so using a Canned or Free-Text Message.

Note: When Dispatch sends a route, a message will be found in the Message Inbox in the following formats: 1) In the Inbox view, it will show in message preview as “Route R…”, and 2) When the message is opened, it will display the following message: “Route R………’ is activated.

Viewing a MessageQuickly view new messages.

1. Touch . The “Messaging Inbox” opens. The newest, unread messages are displayed first (top to bottom) with the unread icon .

2. Touch a message to open the unread message, or use the or to scroll and touch to select.

3. Touch the Menu Icon to bring the Delete or Reply options.

Creating and Sending Messages Types of MessagesDrivers can send two types of messages from their tablets: Notice: A message cannot start with a * or # symbol

▫ Canned – Pre-installed messages that do not require data entry before sending. Useful for quick work updates, such as Job start/done notices and lunch breaks.

▫ Free-Text – Non template-based messages that allow drivers to include up to 200 characters in free form. This option is useful for detailed customer or driver information.

Sending a Canned MessageSend an easy preset message at any time.

1. Touch the Teletrac icon .

2. From the menu, touch . The “Messaging Menu” opens.

3. Touch Quick Message . The “Canned Messages” screen opens.

4. Touch a message to select, or use or to scroll and touch to select. The “Send Message” screen opens.

5. Touch Yes to confirm your selection.

Sending a Free-Text MessageSend a detailed, free-form message (up to 200 characters) at any time.

1. Touch the Teletrac icon .

2. From the menu, touch . The “Messaging Menu” opens.

3. Touch New Message .

4. Use the keyboard to enter the message.

5. Touch Done. The Send message window displays.

6. Touch Yes to confirm your selection.

NavigatingImportant NotesNote on Route Override: If the active route was manually entered by a driver, a second route sent by Dispatch will automatically override the active route.

Note on Arriving at Destination: When arriving at a destination the driver will be prompted with a question: “Mark as done?” Selecting No will keep the route active and the next stored route will not come through unless the driver deletes the active route, or marks the route as Done.

If the driver turns the ignition off before the “Mark as done” message comes up, the current route remains active and upon ignition on, they will be prompted with the “Mark as done” message.

Note on Route Queue: If an active route was sent by Dispatch, any subsequent routes sent by Dispatch will be stored in the VLU and only when the active route is either marked as Done or Deleted will the subsequent routes come through one at a time.

Using the Search Bar1. Touch the Teletrac icon .

2. Select Find Location .

3. Select Enter Search in the search bar.

4. Enter all or part of the search term (e.g. 7391 Lincoln, 7391 Lincoln Way, 7391 Lincoln Way Garden Grove, California, the Point of Interest [POI] name, latitude and longitude, etc.)

5. Select Search.

6. From the list of results, select the correct match. In the menu that drops down, select Go!.

Using Address1. Touch the Teletrac icon .

2. Select Find Location .

3. Select Address .

4. Enter the address number in Enter House Number. Select Next.

5. Enter the street name in Enter Street. Select Next.

6. From the list of results, select the correct match. In the menu that drops down, select Go!.

Setting a Home Address

1. Touch the Teletrac icon .

2. Select Find Location .

3. Select the menu .

4. From the menu screen select Set Home Location.

5. Select from the three options:

a. Enter My Address –

i. Enter the address number in Enter House Number. Select Next.

ii. Enter the street name in Enter Street. Select Next.

iii. From the list of results, select the correct match.

iv. The address will be shown on the map.

1. If it is correct use Select.

2. If it is incorrect use Back to return to the results.

b. Use Current Location – Sets the current location as displayed by the device.

c. Recently Found –

i. Select the matching address from the list.

ii. The address will be displayed on the map.

1. If it is correct use Select.

2. If it is incorrect use Back to return to the results.

Navigating to a Previous Location

1. Touch the Teletrac icon .

2. Select Find Location .

3. Select Recent.

4. From the list of results, select the correct match. In the menu that drops down, select Go!.

Clear Previous Location(s)

1. Touch the Teletrac icon .

2. Select Find Location .

3. Select Recent.

4. Select the menu .

5. Select Clear.

6. When prompted “Clear all items from the recent selections list?” select Yes.

Navigating to a Point on the Map

1. Select View Map.

2. Touch the map.

3. To zoom in or out use the – or + buttons to zoom in and out. To zoom in and out without using the zoom buttons use both the index and thumb to pinch (zoom in) or pull apart (zoom out). Swipe in any direction to scroll the map over.

4. Touch a location on the map. Select Go! to start navigation.

You can use the button to return to the current location. This is not visible if you have not touched the map recently.

Finding a Point of Interest

1. Touch the Teletrac icon .

2. Select Find Location .

3. By default, Restaurants and Gas Stations appear on the main menu. If you are looking for another type of POI, select Categories. Select the appropriate category type.

4. From the list of results, select the correct match. In the menu that drops down, select Go!.

Saving Places1. Touch the Teletrac icon .

2. Select Find Location .

3. Select Enter Search in the search bar.

4. Enter all or part of the search term (e.g. 7391 Lincoln, 7391 Lincoln Way, 7391 Lincoln Way Garden Grove, California, the Point of Interest [POI] name, latitude and longitude, etc.)

5. Select Search.

6. From the list of results, select the correct match. Select Info .

7. From the window select Save.

8. Enter the location’s name in Enter Name. Select Done.

9. When prompted “(Name) is added to Saved Places” select OK.

Navigating to Saved Places

1. Touch the Teletrac icon .

2. Select Find Location .

3. Select Saved.

4. From the list of results, select the correct match. In the menu that drops down, select Go!.

Deleting Saved Places1. Touch the Teletrac icon .

2. Select Find Location .

3. Select Saved.

4. From the list of results, select the menu .

5. Select Delete Saved Places.

6. From the list check Select All to delete all saved places or check next to the item(s) to delete.

7. When complete select Delete.

8. When prompted select Yes to confirm deleting the saved place(s).

Viewing Active RouteQuickly view the remaining time and distance of an active route from your current location on the map. A route must already be active to use this feature.

1. Touch the “Continue to… “ bar.

Example:

The remaining time and distance will display in the Total sections. You can use the button to return to the current location.

2. Swipe up in the Drive to Destination Point section to scroll through the remaining steps in the directions.

Stopping NavigationA route must already be active to use this feature.

1. From the map, touch the menu .

2. Select Stop.

Marking A Route Complete After 25 seconds of arriving at a destination, the driver will be prompted to confirm and mark the route as complete. To mark a route as complete and allow the next route to come through:

1. Touch the menu .

2. Select Yes.

Note: If there are other routes stored in the VLU it will take approximately 1 minute after the active route has been marked as complete for the following route to launch.

Note: If the driver presses No by accident and wishes to delete the active route, please follow the instructions in the Editing Navigation Details section.

Editing Navigation DetailsA route sent by dispatch must already be active to use this feature.

1. Select .

2. Select the active route.

3. Select menu .

4. Select one of the options.

Edit Stop – Takes you to a screen with:

▫ Mark as Done: Mark active route as complete.

▫ Delete Stop: Removes active route.

Go! – Activates route.

Forms: Please disregard. This feature is not supported with the Garmin Nuvi 2539 LMT model.
