ABOUT CAMP Broad Meadow Brook Nature Day Camp offers campers a chance to tap into their natural curiosity and learn about the world around them through hands-on outdoor exploration! Campers investigate different habitats and ecosystems and learn how to identify a variety of wildlife species at the

sanctuary. Most of our day is spent outside exploring our surroundings and getting dirty. Camp fun includes interactive play, noncompetitive games, songs, and stories. And, all camp programming supports the Massachusetts Science Standards.

Our Camp Staff Our dedicated and knowledgeable staff comprises skilled professionals (teachers and naturalists), college students, and high school students age 16 and older. This specialized team works to foster a sense of community among campers and build connections with nature. Counselors are carefully selected based on their maturity, enthusiasm, teaching experience, natural history knowledge, and deep commitment to engaging campers with nature. All undergo background and reference checks, are CPR- and First Aid-certified, and attend a two-week training program prior to the start of camp.

Before & After Camp Options Camp Director Lisa Carlin

At camp, all the staff have nature-inspired names. Campers call me Red Tail—short for red-tailed hawk—such an adaptable urban bird! I have many stories about red-tailed hawks,

which is why I chose it for my nature name. I believe that all kids are amazing and I want to help our campers be the best they can be! Our camp does that with the help of talented and caring staff. I can’t wait to see you and your kids at camp this summer!

Mass Audubon protects 37,000 acres of land throughout Massachusetts, saving birds and other wildlife, and making nature accessible to all. As Massachusetts’ largest nature conservation nonprofit, we welcome more than a half million visitors a year to our wildlife sanctuaries and 20 nature centers. From inspiring hilltop views to breathtaking coastal landscapes, serene woods, and working farms, we believe in protecting our state’s natural treasures for wildlife and for all people—a vision shared in 1896 by our founders, two extraordinary Boston women. Today, Mass Audubon is a nationally recognized environmental education leader, offering thousands of camp, school, and adult programs that get over 225,000 kids and adults outdoors every year. With more than 125,000 members and supporters, we advocate on Beacon Hill and beyond, and conduct conservation research to preserve the natural heritage of our beautiful state for today’s and future generations. We welcome you to explore a nearby sanctuary, find inspiration, and get involved. Learn how at massaudubon.org.

Camp was great! Very organized, and counselors were friendly and attentive. My kid came home physically tired each day from hiking—this is a good thing! This is the best camp she has gone to this summer.
