29th June 2007: Our Chapter Secretary Mrs. M. S. L. Shanthi delivered a lecture on “The Rhythm
of Life” to our chapter members in our June - Monthly Members Meet.

Mr. S. Balakrishnan delivered a lecture on “Earth Quake – The Cause and its Effects” to chapter members in
the July - Monthly Members Meet.
13th September 2007: Our Chapter member Mr. N. L. Parthasarathy delivered a lecture on “Crashworthiness
of Automotive Sheet Metals and Occupant Safety” to our chapter members in our September - Monthly Members

[B] Conference – ROPE’ 07
Research Orientation Programme for Entrants (ROPE’ 07) – A two day conference was held at our department on 8 and 9 August to encourage and motivate the college students to take research as their carrier. The photographs shown below depict the inauguration, welcome decoration, The ROPE-07 team, the audience, the invited talk and valedictory function. This conference reached many students of our region.

[C] Educational Tour – OOO7 Operation Ooty -07 (OOO7) – SPIE family has successfully made a educational
trip to Ooty where The Radio Astronomy Center and Hindustan Photo films factory are visited in the month of October. The first two photographs are taken in front of the aforementioned places. The Ooty Botanical garden and Dottabetta are famous tourist spots from where the last two photos graphs are taken. The enthusiasm of the SPIE members in making the trip is lucidly seen in the center photograph.
