My family and I had a really good weekend in London. Your brother, Tony was very helpful. He drove us to some interesting places in London. He acted as our guide to those places. On the last day he brought us to Oxford Street, it is a place of many kinds of stores offered high quality goods . In this place I bought some new summer clothes and my brother bought a computer game. In the evening we went to Italian restaurant and had dinner there. I can’t imagine visiting London without his help. We really appreciate his help.

The following day we went home. It’s really nice holiday I want to stay longer in London but I have to go back to school.

Sydney Opera House

The Sydney Opera House is a large performing art place. It becomes an Australian icon. It was established in 1973. It is located in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

The Sydney Opera House covers 1.8 hectares of land. It is 183 m long and about 120 m wide. The building can load 25,000 people.

The Opera House is a place for large theatrical productions. It is home of Opera Australia, the Sydney Theatre Company and the Sydney Symphony.

There are five theatres in Sydney Opera House. There are also five rehearsal studios, two main halls, four restaurants, six bars, and many souvenir shops. The design of the Opera House is very unique. The roof looks like giant shells.

Besides for theatrical productions, the Opera House is also used for other functions. It is used for weddings, parties, and conferences.

Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs

A long time ago, a child was born to a queen and king and she was called Snow White.  When the queen died, the king married again.  This new queen was wicked and hated Snow white.  The queen gave orders that Snow White was to be treated as a servant.Snow White grew very beautiful and one day a Prince riding by, saw her at work and fell in love with her.

The queen was beautiful too, and every day she asked her Magic Mirror, "Who is the fairest in the land?" and the mirror always answered, "You are the fairest one of all".But one day the mirror answered Snow White was the fairest in the land, and in a rage the queen gave orders to one of her huntsman to take Snow White into the woods and kill her.The huntsman had a kind heart and couldn't do it so he told her to run away. The huntsman brought a deer’s heart instead of Snow White’s heart as a proof to the queen by saying that it was hers.  

She fled into the woods where Seven little dwarfs lived.  Their house was small and strange. Snow White entered the little house and finding it very untidy, started to clean up.  Upstairs she found seven little beds.  She was very tired and stretching out on one of the beds. She was soon asleep.

When the Dwarfs came home they were surprised to find Snow White and after some argument, decided to let her stay.  She promised to cook and look after them.

The Queen discovered where Snow White was living and disguising herself as a witch, took a poisoned apple and set out for the Dwarfs cottage.  She gave Snow White the poisoned apple to eat and as soon as she bit the apple, she sank into unconsciousness. Thinking she was dead, the Dwarfs built a glass coffin and put her in it. For days she lay in the forest in her glass coffin. 

One day, the Prince was riding through the forest looking for Snow White and found her.  He leaned over and kissed her.  She opened her eyes and sat up with a smile. Everyone was happy.  The Prince took Snow White to his palace where they were married and lived happily ever after.

Kiai Gede Penanggungan gave some seeds of pari or paddy to the couple. He asked the couple to plant the seeds. He also warned the couple not to be arrogant when they were rich from planting the seeds. He wanted the couple to help poor people. The couple started a new life. They planted the seeds. Soon, the seeds grew a lot of rice. Now the couple became very rich. The poor neighbours came to the couple to ask for some pari seed. But the couple refused to help them.

Kiai Gede heard the couple’s bad behaviour. Soon he visited the couple. He met them when the couple was working in the field. Kiai Gede talked to the couple. He reminded the couple not to be arrogant. But the couple ignored him. They said nothing to Kiai Gede. Kiai Gede got very angry. Then he said, “You two are like temples. You cannot listen to me.” Right after he said those words, an incredible thing happened. Slowly, Jaka and Dewi turned into temples. Because the temples stood among the pari, people then named them as Pari Temple.
