“STEPS TO EXCELLENCE”

Heavenly Father, Give assurance of Your presence in and Your blessing on the things we do through Kiwanis. Open our eyes to the truth: That the problems of the world are due not only to the actions of the wicked, but also to the apathy of the good. And now bless this food to our use and us to Your service. Amen

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

"Can You Hear" "Can You Hear" by Jim Papoulis

Can you hear my cries? Can you see my eyes?I am calling out to you.Calling in the distance softly.Suddenly I see I'm falling. Here I am before you, reaching.Could it be I'm slipping away? Can you hear my cries? Can you see my eyes?I am calling out to you.I know you can hear me.I know you can see me.You can hear me calling.

Alison Cacella received her secretary pin.John Bates presented out going treasurer Nancy Bernard with her Certificate of Recognition for her work in the club for 2012-2013.

Kiwanis International launched the Young Children: Priority One program in October of 1990 in an effort to focus on the needs of children age 0–5. In the years since Young Children: Priority One (YCPO) was introduced, remarkable advances in technology have changed our understanding of human brain development during the first few years of life. These findings confirm the importance of Kiwanis’ involvement in YCPO projects—and the impact we can have on society by focusing on children in these developmental stages. This is especially true for children who are at risk and more likely to fail in school and in society. Kiwanis can literally change those children’s lives. This is true no matter where in the world a child lives.

We all need to focus on each of us bringing in a new member! That's not a new idea in Kiwanis, but it’s fundamental to our future. Melva and I want to invite you to a get together on Dec. 15 at our home at 113 Fleet Landing Blvd. It will be a bring-a-dish event and any special drink you want. We will have some beverage items for you. Lots of new members and this will let us all have some good social time. Thanks for the opportunity to support this great club! Karl Price

I thought this fit in so well with our one child theme.Karl

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time.
