Geography of Turkey• Turkey is located in both the

Asiatic and the European mainland, occupying the peninsula of Asia Minor and a small part of the Balkan Peninsula. It shares borders with Bulgaria and Greece on the north-west, with Georgia and Armenia on the north-east, east to Iran and southern Iraq and Syria.

• The total area is 780.6 thousand km. Terrain mostly mountainous, although there are plains. The country is washed by four seas (Mediterranean, Black, Aegean and Marmara), and runs throughout many rivers and is located a few salt lakes.
