MATH PROFICIENCY EXAMS(COLLEGE ALGEBRA, TRIGONOMETRY, PRE-CALCULUS, CALCULUS)

Students who have a TSI score high enough to be exempt from any developmental math classes are eligible to begin with College Algebra. Students with ACT 22 or SAT 540 Math scores are eligible to take Pre-Calculus. The Math Department strongly recommends that a student who begins with Pre-calculus has had a fourth year of high school mathematics that includes a semester of trigonometry.

Math proficiency exams are for students who wish to take higher-level math classes. Students are not allowed to take a proficiency exam for any course in which he/she has had college level instruction.

Students need to first pay at the Business office then bring the receipt and picture ID to the exam. Cost of exam $35

The Calculus Proficiency exam does not allow calculators. For the College Algebra, Trig, and Pre-Calculus exams a graphing calculator is required.

Testing dates and times to be determined by the Math Department. Please call 940-397-4411 for more information.
