February was an interesting and eventful month for Music Matters
Inclusive Choir!
The highlight of our month was a visit from Kathleen Lynch, TD,
who is the Minister for
Disability, Equality, Older People and Mental Health. She came
to our rehearsal onWednesday 13th February, and what an exciting
night it was!
Well done to Denise, Willie and Dominic for presenting gifts to
Minister Lynch.Congratulations to Aine for her beautiful violin
soloyou all did us proud!
We all put on a fantastic performance for Minister Lynch, and as
the pictures show, she wasreally impressed with our choir! She even
clapped along to This Little Light of Mine!
We are all delighted that Rima Malukaite, our Official Choir
Photographer, could comealong and share her time and wonderful
photography skills!

Music Matters at LiFT Youth Arts Festival
Music Matters is delighted to announce that we are running an
exciting series of vocal
workshops and an integrated choirfor young people, with and
without disabilities, who are
aged 17-30, over the next few weeks!
Rehearsals will take place every Friday in the Axis Theatre,
Ballymun from 5-6.30 PM. The
first rehearsal already took place on Friday 1st
March.
The choir will learn 2 songs:
This is Love by will.i.am and Shine Bright like a Diamond by
Rihanna
This Youth Choir will perform at the LiFT Youth Arts Festival,
which will take place inBallymun from the 20th-27th March 2013. For
one full week, the streets and venues ofBallymun will be hopping as
young people showcase and experience the very bestof youth
arts!
The Youth Choir will perform in The Helix, one of the best-known
theatres in Ireland, wherethe RTE talent show The Voice is
recorded. This concert will take place on Wednesday27th or Thursday
28th March (exact date and time to be confirmed).
