    Music Appreciation Day 1: Music Careers Exploration Day 2: Musical Careers Sources

    Assignment: Assignment worksheet can be found in Google Classroom. Choose 3 music careers. A list has been provided for guidance, but you do not have to use only those careers. You may choose what interests

    you most, as long as it is a musical career.

    Assignment: Assignment worksheet can be found in Google classroom. Choose 1 career from the last assignment. Use Google to find 3 books, 3 websites and 3 other publishing (Magazines, newspapers, podcast, etc.) that contain content on the musical career you have chosen.

    Learning Target: Choose 3 musical careers to explore and write 3 facts

    about each career. Use Google for your research. Learning Target: Write an introduction to a narrative using an informational text.

    Piano Music Careers Exploration

    Day 1: Music Careers Exploration Day 2: Whole Steps and Half Steps continued Assignment 1: Go to Musictheory.net – Click Lessons at the top – Under the section titled “The Basics” Click: Steps and accidentals – use the arrows at the bottom of the page to go through the lesson – some examples in the lesson have a listening component – click the speaker to hear the example. Assignment 2: Whole Steps and Half Steps Worksheet Complete the worksheet titled whole steps and half steps. The worksheet can be found in google classroom and turned in via google classroom once completed.

    Assignment: Worksheet can be found in google classroom. Identify whole step OR half step on each piano diagram. Follow specific instructions on worksheet.

    Orchestra Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced

    Assignment 1: Type in the following URL http://teachingstrings.online/ then click tutorials. We will be using the links that say “Use on the web” for this assignment click the first one for your instrument (BE SURE TO CHOOSE THE CORRECT INSTRUMENT!) Basic Finger Patterns.

    1. Make sure your volume is up 2. At the bottom of the screen click the green box that says

    “Next” 3. Listen to the intro and then click review 4. Listen to the explanations of each finger pattern 5. STOP HERE and do not do the exercise yet.

    Assignment instructions: If you have your instrument, follow the instructions below on your instrument. If you do not have your instrument, use your forearm; a pencil; and a ruler to complete. Go back to the website and complete the exercise: Start by clicking “Next” at the bottom of the screen to see example 1, look at the notes in the passage and determine which finger pattern would be used. Complete all 6 examples. Assignment 2: Complete the worksheet (located in google classroom) titled “Half steps_whole steps finger pattern.” Once completed upload your completed assignments to google classroom.

    2. At the top, click Add. Join class. 3. Enter the class code your teacher gave you and click Join. A class code consists of 6 or 7 letters or numbers.

    Assignment: Navigate to your class and access your assignments. You have two assignments to complete for the week (one on Wednesday and one on Friday. Complete each of the assignments by the due date. I have already set the level, tempo, the time signature, and other parameters for each assignment. You are to select Voice as your instrument and practice at the selected level. You will have 30 seconds to study the example and then you will receive a 4-beat metronome count-off, after which you will begin singing the example. YOU WILL HAVE ONLY 3 ATTEMPTS FOR THE ASSESSMENT. If you are happy with your performance SUBMIT the assessment. IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY WITH YOUR PERFORMANCE, YOU MAY CONTINUE WORKING, BUT YOU WILL BE PRESENTED WITH A DIFFERENT PRACTICE
