Muon Isolation in 22X

• 100,000 events from each of the files have been used
• CMSSW 2_2_9 was used for the study
Tracker Isolation
• Muon from QCD sample– 15 GeV/c cut on reco muon PT
• Muon from the Drell Yan sample– 15 GeV/c cut on reco muon PT
– MC Truth matching:• Gen pdgId * charge of reco muon = -13• Gen muon status = 1• Gen muon parent is Z• δR between gen and reco muon < 0.5• δPT/PT Gen between Gen and reco muon < 0.5
Track Quality
• Certain custom set of cuts were borrowed from Matt’s earlier study. I refer to these as custom cuts
• There are built in quality flags in the reco Track object– loose, tight and highPurity
Matt’s Custom Set of Cuts (New Quality Cuts)
Muon PT (without any cuts)
Muon PT for Drell Yan sample with MC Matching
Muon PT for Drell Yan sample with MC Matching and Pt > 15 cut
Muon PT for QCD sample with PT > 15 cut
Track PT without any cuts for Drell Yan Sample
Track PT for all tracks for QCD Sample
ΣPT Definition
• Outer cone radius : 0.3• Inner Cone radius : 0.015• Tracks with no cuts, custom cuts and tight cuts
have been considered
