In 1970 my brother, Allen, and I had big dreamsabout forming a new company that now is known asMulti-Pure. Recognizing an escalating water pollu-tion problem, we established a business to providedrinking water filters, through a monthly rental pro-gram, to customers in the San Fernando Valleynear Los Angeles. At first our goal was to generate100,000 customers in the Valley. Little did we knowhow far we would eventually exceed that goal.

Having built up a large customer base that requiredreplacement filter cartridges, we faced the challengeof developing our own technology, which becamesolid carbon block filters, when the supplier of our fil-ters went out of business.We started out modestlyexperimenting with carbonin a make shift workshop inAllen's backyard and in mygarage. We truly were“backyard” engineers.

We are humbled and grati-fied that Multi-Pure hasbecome the premier manu-facturer of carbon block fil-ters and drinking watertreatment devices designedfor residential and businessuse. Knowing that Multi-Pure Drinking WaterSystems are certified to reduce the widest range ofcontaminants of health concern is a wonderful trib-ute to the company’s efforts.

Our Multi-Pure customers loved their Multi-PureSystem because it provided better tasting, morerefreshing, and healthier drinking water without thehassle and limitations of the bottles delivered to theirfront door. They frequently recommended Multi-Pure to their friends, neighbors, and even relatives.This led to Multi-Pure’s “friends telling friends” mar-keting strategy.

But there was a need for a structured program so in1982 we created the Multi-Pure exciting and dynam-ic Business Opportunity, the network marketing pro-gram designed to give loyal distributors the chanceto earn money through clean water.

We always believed that individuals should berewarded for their efforts. In developing the networkmarketing program, we were able to reward our cus-tomer-distributors for their efforts as well as rewardthe friends that they introduced to Multi-Pure fortheir efforts.

Starting with just four distributors, the distributor net-work quickly grew into thousands of dis-tributors. Our dreams and vision of thefuture grew as we realized that Multi-Pure distributors would be able to reachmillions of people throughout the UnitedStates.

Allen and I owe an enormous amount ofgratitude to the more the 100,000 inde-pendent distributors who are responsiblefor reaching millions of customersthroughout the United States, PuertoRico, US Territories, and Canada. A truemeasure of our success is the number oflong-lasting distributor, customer, and

employee relationships built over the years.

We have collected many wonderful memories overthe past 35 years. However, I would have to say themost memorable event has not yet happened forme. I'm looking forward to the day that the mostmemorable event will occur. I'm looking for manymore milestones.

Multi-Pure’s 2005

Since 1993, David Green has been namedDistributor of the Year, Eastern Region numer-ous times. In addition to this recognition, he alsohas been named 2005 Co-Salesperson of theYear. He has been a member of the Founders’Circle since its inception, and he served as thefirst Chairperson of Multi-Pure’s ExecutiveCouncil.

David has enjoyed incredible success since join-ing Multi-Pure in 1986. In past years he was rec-ognized numerous times. He is one of only twodistributors to receive the distinguishedMillennium 2000 Award which is given to thosevery few distributors who sell 2,000 Multi-Pureunits during their career.

In addition, he is always a top winner in Multi-Purecontests. In the 2005 contest, he was a SalesPoint Champion and a Diamond Winner.

David Green is a distributor with integrity and loy-alty and someone that you would want to modelyourself after. His comments about Multi-Pure’s35th Anniversary are as follows:

The thing I admire the most about Allen andAlvin is how willing they are to try new things-- to change and evolve. That's the kind ofleadership we all look for. Jorge Nieves has reached many personal goalssince becoming a Multi-Pure Distributor in 2000including: becoming a Network Director; qualify-ing as a Founders’ Circle Member; and he serveson the elite Executive Council. He now can add2005 Distributor of the Year, Puerto Rico to hislist of incredible achievements.

In addition, for several years, he attended Multi-Pure’s National Conferences in Las Vegas wherehe won big money on the exciting Wheel ofFortune. In 2005, Jorge was the Contest TotalPoints Champion and a Double Diamond winner.

Jorge advises other distributors to “keep yourfocus on your goals so as to succeed andachieve your dreams. Believe in the productyou sell, and have confidence in the compa-ny.”

A Network Director who is highly respected bymany distributors, Nieves has helped other dis-tributors climb the ladder of success. He says he“has become financially independent,” and heserves as a role model for other distributors. Heparticularly enjoys “helping others have betterhealth and income.”

Multi-Pure is very pleased to congratulate JorgeNieves on being named Distributor of the Year,Puerto Rico as well as Co-Recruiter of theYear. He has all the traits of a winner -- successin sales, recruiting, and network building. Hisenthusiasm for the Multi-Pure product, the com-pany, his network of successful distributors, newprograms, etc., is contagious. Most importantly,Jorge Nieves has a positive attitude and out-standing leadership abilities. Perhaps that is whyother distributors fondly and respectfully refer tohim as “El Jefe.”

Distributors of the Year

Diane Carson is like the “energizer woman” --she just keeps on going! And she keeps on suc-ceeding! Diane’s outstanding achievementswere first recognized in 1994 when she wasnamed Co-Rookie of the Year. Since that time,she has been named Distributor of the Year (sev-eral times); Network Builder of the Year; Runner-up Recruiter of the Year; and Runner-upSalesperson of the Year! In addition, Diane is aFounders’ Circle member and serves on Multi-Pure’s prestigious Executive Council.

Throughout the years, Diane, a National NetworkDirector, has developed a significant networkorganization which includes twelve MasterBuilders on her second level. “My network hasgrown tremendously, and it sometimes is dif-ficult to stay in touch with all of the distribu-tors in my organization,” says Diane.“Meetings are of tremendous benefit becausewe learn from each other, encourage oneanother, and help each other set attainablegoals. I enjoy working with my network atpublic exhibits as that gives me the opportu-nity to help those distributors build their net-works.”

Diane truly is a symbol of endurance. She notonly motivates other distributors, she inspiresthem to be the best that they can be. Diane says,“I was amazed at how my business grewwhen I committed to talk with just one personeach and every day, and I encourage distrib-utors in my network to do the same.'

Gerardo De Jesús is a veryinvolved distributor whoalways makes himselfavailable to help distributors in his networkorganization. He says, “helping others reachtheir dreams,” keeps me active. When he learned that they hadbeen named Co-Rookie of theYear, Ernest said, “this successis not only mine -- it is shared.Maribel Miranda and IvanBiascoechea are my pillars andsupport, and that is a key. InPuerto Rico we have bad quali-ty of water, and sharing Multi-Pure is sharing better health.”

Dieter Kilgus, a distributor since 1986, had the fol-lowing to say about his ongoing success. “Afterbeing an active Distributor for over 20 years, I canhonestly say that it was the best decision I madewhen I joined the Multi-Pure team.
