WhatareMudras?
AccordingtotheVediccultureofancientIndia,ourentireworldismadeof‘thefiveelements’calledasThe Panch-Maha-Bhuta’s.The five elements beingEarth,Water,Fire,Wind and Space/Vacuum.Theyarealsocalledtheearthelement,waterelement,fireelement,windelementandspaceelement.
Thesefiveelementsconstitutethehumanbody–thenutrientsfromthesoil(earth)areabsorbedbytheplantswhichweconsume(thuswesurviveontheearthelement),thebloodflowingthroughownveinsrepresents thewaterelement, thebodyheatrepresents thefireelement, theoxygenweinhaleandthecarbondioxideweexhalerepresents thewindelementand thesinuseswehave inournoseandskullrepresentthespaceelement.
As long as these five elements in our body are balanced andmaintain appropriate levelswe remainhealthy.Animbalanceoftheseelementsinthehumanbodyleadstoadeterioratedhealthanddiseases.
Nowunderstandthis,thecommandandcontrolcenterofallthesefiveelementsliesinourfingers.Soliterally,ourhealthliesatourfingertips.

Beseatedcomfortablyinanuprightpostureandconcentrateonyourbreathingtorelax.
Crossyourhandsatyourwristsinfrontofyourface,withyourlefthandcrossingovertherighthand.
Now,fold/curldowntheLittle,RingandMiddlefingersofboththehands.
Now,touchthetipsofboththeIndexfingerstogether,whilekeepingyourThumbsparalleltoeachotherandtouching.
Then,gentlybowdownyourheadandletthetipoftheindexfingerstouchtheThird-Eyepoint.(TheThird-Eyepointislocatedhalfacentimeterabovethemidpointbetweentheeyebrows.)
Holdfor1to2minutes.
WhileperformingthisMudravisualizeyourthirdeyeopeningandwhereveryousee,thereispeaceandcalmness.

OnceyouhaveformedthisMudra,raisetheMudraataheightofaround6inchesaboveyourhead.
And nowvisualize as if a shower of light and energy are entering the top of your head through thetriangleformedintheMudra.
