Examples of a Complete Sentence:

Incomplete Sentences are also known as a Fragment. A fragment does not tell a complete thought.

With an incomplete sentence or fragment you are always left asking yourself a question. You are trying to figure out what the sentence is talking about.

Example: Like the playful kittens. (Who likes the playful kittens? Why do they

like the playful kittens?)

Take out a piece of notebook paper and copy down these fragments.

1. Mountains, canyons, and valleys.

2. The huge, dark cave.3. Had one, too.4. Flutter their feathers.5. Loves to shop.

Work with your partner to form a complete sentence with the given fragments on your paper.

Each person should write a sentence. So….. That means there should be 2

sentences for each fragment on your paper. A total of 10 complete sentences.
