MOUNT SEMERU TREKKING AND MOUNT BROMO SUNRISE

Duration: 04 Days / 03 Nights Start/End: Surabaya Airport

DAY 01: MORNING ARRIVAL SURABAYA – MALANG – RANU PANI (L+D) You will need to arrive on an early flight at Surabaya to join this tour. At 10.30 am, our group will leave for Malang, one of the largest cities in East Java and onwards to Tumpang. Finally, your vehicle will take you to Ranu Pani where you will stay with a local family. After some sightseeing around the area, there is ample time to explore on your own and take in the atmosphere. Enjoy a homemade dinner. DAY 02: RANU PANI – RANU KUMBOLO – KALIMATI, MT. SEMERU (B+L+D) Today, you will start your journey through the tropical rain forest that is home to Mt. Semeru, the highest mountain in this part of Java and one with an active volcano. A 3-4 hour walk will lead you to Ranu Kumbolo with its mountainous lake. After lunch, we trek for another 3-4 hours reaching Kalimati Camp - the summit camp of Mt. Semeru. Your support team will prepare your dinner while you relax and enjoy the place. You will stay overnight in a tent or at the Kalimati Camp. DAY 03: MT. SEMERU - RANU KUMBOLO – CEMORO LAWANG; WALK & TREK (B+L+D) A very early start is slotted in to begin your journey to the summit of Mount Semeru. About two and a half hours of walking will lead you to the crater's rim from where, if you get there early enough, you'll be able to take in the

sunrise. You can spend some time taking in the beauty that surrounds you, before heading back to the base camp in time for breakfast. We will then trek back to Ranu Pani Village via Mount Ayek-Ayek - this route will take 2-3 hours, reaching there, just after lunch. Next, we take the jeep to Cemoro Lawang village where you will stay overnight at a lodge. DAY 04: CEMORO LAWANG – MT. BROMO – SURABAYA – DEPARTURE (B+L) Another day with a very early start. Enjoy your coffee before jumping into the four-wheel drive to witness Mt. Pananjakan, an active volcano. After enjoying spectacular sunrise views of the mountains, we head back to the lodge in time for breakfast. You will have time to rest before heading to Surabaya airport for your flight to your next destination. TOUR CONDITION: Mt Semeru is closed for trekking every year starting the beginning of January to end of March and usually opens for trekking at the end of April or beginning of May.
