    Resumé

    Dette projekt omhandler motivationsorienteringer for fagligt stærke piger i 8. klasse. Vi kigger

    både på, hvordan disse skabes, og hvilke implikationer de har for pigerne. For at få indblik i

    elevernes livsverden benytter vi os af kvalitative interviews. Vi interviewer derfor fem piger om

    fænomenet at præstere.

    Af vores analyse fremgår det, at pigerne motiveres af forskellige ting som fx anerkendelse,

    deres fremtid og adgangen til denne, relationer og præstationer.

    Vi konkluderer, at skolelivet er aldeles vigtigt for deres selvopfattelse, da pigerne opfatter

    sig selv gennem deres præstationer. Vi så, at de var så optaget af deres præstationer, at mange

    andre ting måtte træde i baggrunden.

    Abstract

    In this project, we aim to investigate, how academically resourceful girls at 14-15 years of age

    are motivated. We examine both the implications and how these motivational orientations are

    created. To get an insight into the life of these schoolgirls, we conduct qualitative research

    interviews. In light of this, we performed five interviews with girls regarding the phenomenon to

    perform.

    On account of our analysis, it is apparent that the girls are motivated by a number of

    things, e.g. confirmation, their future and the access to the same, relations and achievements.

    We conclude that school life is a significant factor in the way the girls perceive themselves,

    since the girls judge themselves by how well they perform. We experienced that they were so

    caught up with their performances that they often prioritized that above everything else.
