Which FOREDOM® is Right for You? Answer: 80% of our customers should get an SR.

If you are looking for guidance, our best advice is to go with a model within the Series SR. Series SR flex shaft motors are 1/6 HP, run in forward and reverse at speeds up to 18,000 RPM, and offer all of the power and speed needed to accomplish most every job. Keep in mind that our motors are rated at continuous duty or maximum efficiency and NOT maximum output. If we adopted the max output rating used by other manufacturers, it would qualify as 1/5 or 1/4HP

Specialized Motors- Some of our customers have specialized needs/jobs and Foredom makes motors that meet their requirements. Series TX motors are 1/3HP and their extra power/torque at speeds up to 15,000 RPM make them great for more demanding work like hogging out large quantities of wood or porting engines. Series LX motors have extra torque from 500 RPM to max speed of to 5,000 RPM and are designed for drilling, wax modeling, and other slow speed applications.

Speed controls also come in three styles: 1. Foot operated in plastic housing, 2. Foot operated in metal housing, 3. Table-top dial operated in plastic housing. All motor-speed control combinations have a Two Year Limited Warranty. Note: A complete flexible shaft machine requires a handpiece, which comes separately.

Our most popular motor-speed control combination is the M.SR Hang-Up Style Motor with the C.FCT-1 Foot Operated Speed Control in plastic housing.

Variable Speed Foot operated or bench top dial controls allow users to find just the right speed for the accessory, material, and application. Standard flexible shaft speeds up to 18,000 RPM with low speed/high torque models also available. Micromotor rotary tools offer speeds as high as 50,000 RPM.

Broad selection of interchangeable handpieces Foredom handpieces can easily be switched out, adding tremendous versatility to the product line. Users are working with slender handpieces as opposed to hand-held motors that are heavier and more difficult to manage and maneuver. Handpieces, flexible shaft and micromotor, are light weight and smooth running. By having the flex shaft motor positioned above and out of the way of the workpiece the user experiences significantly less vibration, noise, and heat associated with hand-held electric or air motors. Handpieces are available with either collets or chucks for holding rotary accessories and drills with shanks from 1/16″ to 1/4″ in diameter.

The reliable C.FCT-1 is Foredom’s most popular foot operated speed control. It is made of heavy-duty plastic with durable solid state electronics. The ergonomics allow precise and reliable speed control with your foot.

This foot operated speed control comes in a heavy cast iron metal housing. The extra weight provides added stability and control. The bottom surface of the C. SCT is covered with non-skid material. It features the same durable, solid state electronics as the C.FCT. The ergonomics allow precise and reliable speed control with your foot.

This table top speed control is constructed of heavy duty plastic with durable solid state electronics. It has a dial control for precise speed settings, as well as good repeatability of previous settings.

MAMH-1 features a 3-piece hexagonal support rod, top safety hook rod for holding one or two motors and the MABC-1 for attaching to any bench top up to 2-1/4″ thick. The rod height can be adjusted with the locking screw built onto the clamp. Comes with a MAHR-2 Handpiece Rest that slides onto the hanger pole and secures your handpieces when not in use. Also has two UA10658 Spring Safety Clips that slide over the motor bale and on to the hanger rod to keep the motor(s) from jumping and twisting during start up and acceleration.

MAMH-2 features a 3-piece hexagonal support rod, top safety hook rod for holding one or two motors and the MABC-2 that screws to top or side of bench. The rod height can be adjusted with the locking screw built onto the base mount. Comes with a MAMR-2 Handpiece Rest that slides onto the hanger pole and secures your handpieces when not in use. Various bench top tools attach to this versatile handpiece, such as the Foredom drill press, Angle Grinder Attachment, Right Angle Collet Adapter, Belt Sander Attachment, Filer, Handpiece Holder, and AllSet® Stone Setting Kits.

H.28 has a slender, comfortable design with tapered grip and pre-lubricated ball bearings that do not require any additional lubrication. Comes with 3/32″ and 1/8″ collets, and pin and chuck wrench for changing collets and accessories. Other fractional and metric collets are available in Collet Set 600.5-1/4″ long, 23/32″ dia. (center), 1/2″ dia. (taper), wt. 3 oz, ship wt. 4.35 oz.

The H.44T is a collet type handpiece that accepts accessories with up to 1/4″ diameter shanks. Has prelubricated ball bearings that require no additional lubrication. Comes with 3/32″, 1/8″ and 1/4″ collets, pin and wrench for changing collets and accessories. 5-5/8″ long, 1″ dia. (center), 3/4″ dia. (taper), wt: 5.85 oz, ship wt: 8.6 oz

The H.18 is for use with only 2.35mm (3/32″) shank burs. A press lever action is all that is required to change accessories. It features a very slim grip and pre-lubricated ball bearings that do not require any lubrication. 7″ long, 19/32″ dia., wt. 3.65 oz., ship wt. 4.45 oz.

The H.20 is for exclusive use with 3/32″ (2.35mm) shank burs. A lever action on the the handpiece body is all that is required to change accessories. It has a molded plastic front grip with tapered sides for easy and close handling, plus pre-lubricated ball bearings that do not require additional lubrication. The collet in this handpiece can be replaced and/or adjusted if the hold on a bur shank is not secure. Watch the video for instructions on making collet adjustments. 5-5/8″ long, 1-1/8″ dia. The H.15 Handpiece has hammering rather than rotary action for use at low speed (0-5,000 rpm) by jewelers for stone setting and decorative work. Comes with an anvil point (HP10177). It requires periodic lubrication. Hammer has 1/32″ stroke and its impact can be adjusted from light to heavy by turning the silver knurled adjusting ring. Optional points are available:
