Reaching - Our focus is to see lost people come to know the saving grace that is found in Jesus Christ. We also desire to see those who have become disillusioned with the church find a faith family where they belong.

Gathering - Whether in a large group for worship, in small groups for bible study, or any size group for fellowship and outreach, the gathering of believers will be important in all that we do as we build community and hold one another accountable in our faith.

Going - We believe that Jesus was clear that we are not to be a stagnant body of believers waiting for people to come to us. We will go into all the world through missions, community outreach, church planting, and by any other means necessary to reach the world for Christ.

As God blesses the vision of Moore Community Church, we believe He will bring about a church that is:

Regularly reaching families and individuals for Christ

Involving people of all ages in building redemptive communities

Impacting our local schools and businesses with the Gospel

Helping individuals grow in their faith through a clearly defined discipleship process

Encouraging each other through “Full Accountability” in the areas of the Word, Witnessing, Serving, and Giving

Communicating the difference in expectation and benefits between MCC Attenders and MCC Members

Incorporating our Core Values in all of our ministries

Worshiping God in new and creative ways

“Reaching the lost and disillusioned of Moore, gathering in true community accountable to Christ, and

going to redeem the world.”

“Why another church in Moore, Oklahoma?”

That is a very good question and one we asked ourselves as God started speaking to our hearts concerning this community and the call to plant a church in Moore. After taking a deeper look we began to see the great need that lay before us.

In the city of Moore and the surrounding area there are almost 70,000 unchurched people. That is a staggering number. It is composed of those who have never met Jesus, people who’ve had bad experiences with the church, those disillusioned with ‘organized’ religion, and more.

This is a growing trend among all ages, but most of those in Moore who fit that description are between 10 and 40 years old. They have never felt the need for “church” as they know it. Some have never even heard the true story of Jesus, even though they are right in the heart of the ‘Bible Belt.‘ Many have never had a community of believers reach out to them in a relevant and authentic way.

God has started to break our hearts for these people and to give us a vision of a new church. A church that communicates the timeless message of Jesus Christ without compromise in a new way for a new generation of people.

“The fields are ripe for harvest.” 70,000 people. We know that we can’t reach them all alone, but we believe that God will use Moore Community Church to be another light in the darkness making the name of Jesus famous.

Our meeting space in Downtown Moore, The Old School.

The only way to truly know a community is to share life with the people, getting to know where they work, eat, and play. We want our knowledge and relationship with the people of the Moore area to grow much deeper than statistics and graphs but we can easily start with demographics to get an idea of the makeup of our community from a big picture perspective.

Our Focus Area is made up of the City of Moore along with portions of the cities of Oklahoma City and Norman. It is most easily defined by the Moore Public School District but for the purposes of these demographics, we’re using several zip codes that represent the area we’d like to reach.

In Need of Real Community People who have thousands of ‘Facebook friends’ and hundreds of ‘Twitter followers’, who are “plugged-in” in every conceivable way, but lacking in the area of a real faith family who is living life side-by-side with them.

Disillusioned with the Current “Church”People, both lost and unchurched, who have a distorted view of the Body of Christ, who have been repeatedly disappointed or hurt by what they see as the “church”, and are in need of a real Christ centered community to embrace them.

Current-Minded LifestyleThose who no longer subscribe to the traditional point of view concerning lifestyle, truth, and worldview. People who live a 24 hour life; juggle multiple work, family, and ongoing education responsibilities; those who don’t accept or who weren’t raised under the Judeo-Christian ethic.

Millennials / Emerging GenerationPeople born roughly between the years 1980 and 2000. At 78 million it is the largest single generation of people in the United States and represents almost 50% of the population of our Focus Area.

Flexible Worshipers Individuals who are ready for worship to stop being just about Sunday morning and start being a way of life. Ready to incorporate different methods, both new and old, into their worship experience.

Technologically Integrated People who live in an increasingly technology-driven world and have significantly integrated technology into their lives. From the way they communicate to their entertainment choices, and in how they schedule their lives, technology is not an afterthought, but the state of mind.

Middle Income Individuals who don’t swing to the extremes of poverty or wealth, but sit near the middle of the income scale. A majority of our target area falls into this status.

Young and Younger-Minded Individuals and FamiliesMillennials or those whose social circles, in personal friendships, work relationships, or from a shared culture, help them to relate and identify best with a younger generation.

We believe that to reach a generation and people group not being effectively reached by the majority of churches, we need to do something different. Below are a few areas for which God has given Moore Community Church a unique vision.

An Emphasis on Community

Home Ministry - Our heartbeat is to help our faith family use their homes as the center of their ministry. Living out the gospel in Community Groups, sharing fellowship, reaching out to others, and more will all happen in homes all around Moore.

Sunday Night Lives - Our Sunday evenings will be spent living our lives for our immediate families, our MCC family, the other people in Moore, and loving God. The focus will depend on the Sunday of the month. First Sundays of the month will be strengthening families, second Sundays are times of fellowship, third are nights of outreach, fourth Sundays are open to revisit whatever focus is most needed, and fifth Sundays will be special times the whole community comes together to worship.

Business Blessings - We realize that every business in Moore is made up of people who need Jesus. MCC will love on each one through highlighting a “Business to Bless” each month that we will encourage and reach out to through specific prayer, our patronage, and many other tangible acts of love.

School Adoption - MCC hopes to have an impact on the schools of our community through opening dialogues with principles and meeting the needs of individual students and their families throughout the year.

An Emphasis on Transformation

Moore Life - This is our discipleship journey at MCC. We want to walk alongside each person as they meet Jesus for the first time and begin the process of learning to be like Him. This process will help all of us as we live in authentic faith, full accountability, and as we discover the abundant life God has for us in Christ.

Membership Matters - Through an in-depth membership Community Group, we will enter into a covenant relationship with those who are led by God to move from being MCC Attenders to Moore Community Members. MCC Members agree with each other before God to be active in the total life of the church, to discover and use their gifts in ministry, and to be held fully accountable in their faith.

Full Accountability - The exercise of “full accountability” will be a cornerstone in the life of a Moore Community Member. This is the agreement to openly and regularly be held and to hold others accountable to share their faith, read the Word, give obediently, and serve others.

An Emphasis on Creativity

In Worship - Our desire is that Community Members and Attenders would come expectant to see God’s Spirit move through original music, video and live performance, interactive illustrations, directed prayer, and other creative means. Worship not constrained by time, but open to the leading of the Spirit.

In Communication - We plan to use everything from Facebook and Twitter to Skype and Email in unique, informative, and supportive ways to ultimately draw Moore Community closer to each other and to allow us to more easily proclaim and make famous the name of Jesus.

In Reaching Out - MCC seeks to discover the real needs of the people of Moore and meet them week in and week out, using every opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We want to build the Kingdom of God through relational evangelism, personal interest outreach, one-to-one mentoring, and other innovative ways.
