  • About the Department Welcome to the Department of Biology at Fatih University. The department offers Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology. Our academic program is dynamic and provides students with a solid background and detailed knowledge in the fields of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Medical Microbiology, Biochemistry, Physiology, and Biotechnology. Our department is vital, and interactive with strong interactions between faculty members and students. We train and educate undergraduate students in all aspects of career development with regard to teaching, research and at the highest levels of excellence. Our students learn biology through our interactive class lectures and practice through laboratory exercises. Undergraduate students are encouraged to participate in research projects and summer research training.

  • The Biology faculty are strongly committed to quality teaching and advisement of students, and to excellence in research. Our research facilities include state of the art research laboratories that are equipped with modern devices. Our facultys research activities cover a variety of disciplines including, Molecular Microbiology, Cell and Molecular Biology, Mycology, Toxicology, Immunology and Plant physiology. The mission of our department is to create and communicate knowledge through education, and to nurture and sustain a community of scholars who pursue this mission through education and research in life sciences. Our aim is to help our students make the transition from the passive role of receiving knowledge to the active role as generator of new knowledge.
