This group exhibition presents anumber of artists whose worktraverses different dimensions ofreality, identity and reportage. Each work, at its root, has a formof investigation – questions aboutsexual identity, the cosmos, thecanons of philosophy, the meaningof life, third world poverty or therelevance of art itself.

Confronting these questions, the roles of the artists begin toemerge: chameleon, imposter, investigator, reporter, analyst, traveller, nominalist, parodist. Theaudience is left to ponder thequestions, not easily answered, but definitely provoking.

All Humans Do21 APR. – 27 JUN.

In Andrei Tarkovsky’s film Solaris(1972), psychologist Kris Kelvinmysteriously meets his dead wifeon a space station. She isconfused and asks Kelvin who shereally is. Michel Foucault wrote inThe Politics of Truth, “One of themain moral obligations for anysubject is to know oneself, to tellthe truth about oneself, and toconstitute as an object ofknowledge both for other peopleand oneself.” The artists in thisshow reflect on everyday

experiences of materials, literature, music, interaction with knowledgeand the incomprehensiblephenomena of aspects outside ofthe self, which we accept but maynot understand. The artists’processes tell of their journey andthe choices and mistakes made, perhaps analogous to getting toknow oneself.
