    Hydropower Pump Storage Power Plant 

    To meet the electricity demand during the peak load in Java-Bali system, a total

    ,

    years, consist of:

    Upper Cisokan P/S : 1,040 MW ( pre-construction stage, expected COD:

    Matenggeng P/S : 900 MW ( expected COD : 2019/2020 )

    Grindulu P/S : 500 MW ex ected COD : 2020

    75,5 m height of upper dam and 98 m height of lower dam will be build using

    RCC dam for Upper Cisokan P/S . 4 units of adjustable speed pump turbine and

    enerator will be install in the under round owerhouse.

    Pump Srorage with capacity of 400 MW in Sumatera and 800 MW Sea water

    Pump Storage in East Java has been identified for future study

    Summary and Conclusion

    To meet electricity demand, a total of 5.7 GW new additional hydropowerplant has been planned for the next ten years and 20% expected to be

    developed by private ( IPP ).

    Indonesia has abundant hydropower potential, as for supporting the

    energy conservation policy , development plan as a peak power plant willreduce oil consum tion. 

    PLN has identified a total of 12.9 GW of hydropower plant for the next

    15 years development and 35 % propossed to be developed by IPP.

    FIT for small and medium scale renewable energy ( RE ) will acceleratethe development of renewable energy and attract private participation.
