The students built a card board, balloon operated

car and built a cushion type barrier to protect an

egg. In groups of two they devised an elaborate

machine to knock down the “Albert Einstein.”

On Friday they built a catapult.. In Animation their

ingenuity continued and they created Environ-

mental PSA‟s using Flux Time Studio, an online

based animation program. They also created mini

animations in Animationish. They started the week

by making and drawing their own Flip Books. In

Brain Pop they learned about Traditional Anima-

tion vs Digital Animation.

It has been a very production week for

these young inventors/animators. To view the ani-

mation videos please check out: Millhop-

Recycling, Recreating, Redesigning,

Reconstructing, Reusing! This week the crafty

students of the Recycled Art Summer Camp

created bowls out of magazines, sculpted their

own paper, made robots, jewelry and key chains

out of magazines and bottle tops, and so much

more. “My favorite part of camp was making a

bowl out of a magazine,” one student said. Way

to save our environment crafters!

Recycled Arts and Crafts

Ms. Crystal

Ms. Liz

We had a blast this week,

making masks, treasure maps

and singing pirate songs.

“Argh!”

Our dress up day on

Thursday was filled with many

colorful characters! The fun

continues next week…. Shiver

Me Timbers!

Our push pin parrots came to life this week, as we

studied all about the pirate world! Our treasure maps were a lot of

fun. Perhaps it will take you to find a

hidden treasure! The students en-

joyed the adventures of the Magic

Tree House: Pirates Past Noon.

Next week our enrichment theme

continues.

My beautiful bowl. Home made paper

Creating Magazine bowls. Creating a masterpiece.
