ANNUAL REPORTFISCAL YEAR 2017
We give help. We give hope.
SAMOST JEWISH FAMILY & CHILDREN’S SERVICE
We give help. We give hope.
For over 70 years, Jewish Family & Children’s Service of Southern New Jersey (JFCS) has been providing compassionate practitioners, caring volunteers, tireless advocates, and comprehensive social services for those in need. The mission of JFCS has always been to help others help themselves, so they may move from a place of difficulty to a place of empowerment.
Many of those impacted by the services and programs of JFCS return as volunteers, to give back what has been given to them. This cycle of kindness and generosity embodies the true nature of our agency, and creates a unique momentum for healing, strengthening, and lifting up those individuals in need.
This past fiscal year, we have expanded our outreach to a greater number of students and parents, to increase awareness of youth suicide, domestic violence, and addiction. We also launched Project Rainbow, in partnership with the Katz JCC, to offer a social support group for LGBTQ teens and their peers. Additionally, the Rhona Fischer (z”l) Family Assistance Program has remained steadfast in its commitment to provide case management to vulnerable individuals and families to better understand the root causes underlying their economic instability. We hired a new Clinical Director, and began reorganizing the counseling department, with a goal of servicing more people through niche specialties. Finally, we launched our innovative new website – designed to provide greater accessibility, interaction, and responsiveness – so that we may reach the entire community.
With our widening circle of volunteers, donors, community partners, board members, and staff, we will create endless possibilities, and a ripple effect of positive change for years to come. We are proud of what we have accomplished together. You have made yet another groundbreaking year possible and we are truly grateful.
