MMHS Eagle HighFlights April 29, 2019 Mock Disaster This Wednesday, May 1st, at approximately 11:50 am, Maple Mountain will be participating in a mock crash/disaster. This event is in coordination with the Utah Highway Patrol, Spanish Fork and Mapleton emergency response teams, and the Utah County sheriff's office. We ask that you do not be alarmed when you see and hear emergency response teams responding to the school at that time. After lunch students will report to their third period class, roll will be taken, then students will go out to the South parking lot where the crash will be staged. After the crash part of the event, students will then go into the auditorium for the second part of the event. When that is over students will return to fourth period. We encourage all students to attend this event. We feel it will have an impact on them and their driving habits now and throughout their life. There will be counselors available after the mock crash for those who may need assistance. If you choose to not have your student attend, they may opt out by having you sign and return an exception form by Tuesday, April 30th. These forms are available in the front office. We will have a classroom and teacher available for these students. This event also gives the emergency responders an opportunity to work together and practice their skills, as well as giving our students an opportunity to learn more about the consequences of driving distracted/impaired and not wearing seatbelts. If you would like to preview the event you can google mock disaster Spanish Fork High School. On this day most of the south parking lot will be closed for parking, so students will need to park in other areas. MMHS CHOIR RECEIVES SUPERIOR RATINGS AT REGION Congratulations to all 4 of our choirs on receiving straight superior ratings at Region! This continues the 10th year tradition of every MMHS Choir qualifying for State. Go Eagles!!

On Previous Fix It days we have repaired or rebuilt trailers, sporting equipment, yard tools, Fire pits, gates, plus more. Anything that's metal we can try to help you from throwing it away. We have even built small projects that day. Let your friends and neighbors know about it. They pay for the metal and donate what they can. The shop will be closing down for the summer after this for clean up and new paint. Email [email protected] to set up a time or consultation on your project needs. SPORTS PHYSICALS I can't believe that we are almost finished with another great year. I am already looking ahead to the 2019-20 seasons and summer camps. As a reminder that to participate in a sport at MMHS at any time during the 2019-20 school year, your physical has to be dated on or after April 15, 2019 and will be valid unit Jul 15, 2020. If you are participating in a summer camp including scouting you are required to have a physical. We are hosting an evening for pre-participation physicals. It will be here at Maple Mountain High School on Wednesday, May 29th, from 5:00-6:30 pm on campus in the athletes commons and gym (Physicians will be in attendance for these exams). This is for anyone who needs a physical for participation in athletics (including try-outs) or can be done for other things such as scout camps etc. The cost is $20.00 cash or check. These funds are a fundraiser for our sports medicine budget and helps us purchase necessary items to care for our athletes. Paperwork can be completed ahead of time and is available online at: registermyathlete.com or can be filled out at the time of the physical. If you want to also get the scouting forms fill out please bring a copy of that also. All athletes need to register on Register My Athlete to try-out for a sport. If you have any questions, please contact me, Krista Prusak, the Athletic Trainer. You may contact Krista at: [email protected] or 801-310-9987. Respectfully, Krista
